I'd sign him, I'd sign anyone, simply any one.
If we signed Chris Weale, like at this current age and fitness I'd probably need a lie down due to excitement...this close season has been that boring transfer wise.

I don't think it's fair to lay Mac, Clement and Pearson at Mel's door - He was letting Rush take most of the decisions at that point by all accounts
Since Rush left he brought in Rowett, Lampard and Cocu which were all long term potential type appointments - And he's made £10m (rumoured) on managers in 2 years...

Long term vision? 😆 Our track record with managers doesn’t lend well to the term “future vision”. We’ve had 7 managers since May 2015 (when Mel took fully over) and were is the vision there?
If Phil is a success we’ll struggle to keep hold of him unless we go up. If we don’t make the playoffs most in PP will be booing him.  Don’t get me wrong Phil’s a great appointment, hats of to Mel and the club, but future vision / planning? 4 years? really? It BS, sadly modern football doesn’t cope with long term vision / planning, it’s all about instead success. Someone on the RD phone said “we’ll do a Wolves”, nice thought, but very doubtful. Good luck Phil x

I'm convinced Brexit will never happen and now I'm starting to think neither will Frank's departure.

It is depressing but whoever we appoint it's going to have that effect. Frank wasn't and still isn't a big name in football management, but is a huge name in football terms. Whoever comes in they're got some boots to fill thou.
I'm just bored now with it all (like most), bye Frank, thanks Frank, loan us a few good kids Frank and lets hope Mel appoints asap. The guy at Lincoln seems an interesting choice too me.

Can see this happening. Weren't he pictured with Wassall the other day? If he does come I wouldn't be inspired in the slightest. Cracking guy but that WBA team should have gone up in the top two last year. I remember when we played them at their place and he came out and said they performed really well?!?
Chris Hughton is the man for me. Not done a bad job anywhere he's been in management.

Yes and they give it to whoever (Rafa?) If he doesn’t go within the next week, he will go when whoever (Rafa?) gets sacked in October/ November which will really be the worst case for us ☹️.

I'd like Frank to stay, simply for the continuity of management, not because I think he's top drawer, not yet at least.
Promising, nothing less and nothing more, the talk we're seeing of the great football played and how he managed the younger players is selective memory at best, but I liked the direction of travel.
The sort of social media posts we're seeing make that harder imo.
As I posted much earlier in this thread, I've been told he'd committed his future to us, and urged everyone to disregard any speculation, but the actions of his associates are making it difficult to believe that, and that is in his power to stop.
The fact he hasn't is disappointing to say the least.
Even if he stays now, we'll only have to wade through this crap every time Chelsea are underperforming, and there are plenty of managers out there with a better track record and easily available, who don't attract this Circus.

    Utterly classless.
Why does he deserve the Chelsea job? Dean Smith deserves the job more than him, a manger Lampard was outwitted by on 2 occasions, or Bielsa, a manager he was outwitted by on 3 occasions.
If Drogba ends up in a job at Chelsea that would be shocking after how unprofessional he has been about all this.
Sounds to me like Chelseas hierarchy aren't 100 percent sure on Frank and his friends are trying to put a little pressure on.

Would be out of his depth as Derby's first team manager. Lampard got away with it last year due to his playing pedigree, Wassall wont. The shambles against Rotherham away and Hull showed that he was out of his depth, we even needed to draft Harry in to hold his hand.

I’m not bother either way whether he stays or goes because to me he hasn’t started to build anything with us. Last season the back bone of our team was based on 3 loaned players and Marriott who will most likely leave if Frank remains.
Also if he turns down Chelsea what will his / our relationship be with them regarding future loans 🤔. They are our best chance of get quality young players in with Frank and especially Jody Morris’ connection.
We can all slap Frank on the back as Wembley was unexpected. However the Elland rd semi Holmes / Marriott subbing was down to an injury not a tactical genius and to be honest Frank is not the flamboyant manager he was has a player. He’s pretty conservative even negative which Wembley showed.
I found last season to be frustrating, mainly due to us being very topsey turvey, when at times we looked top 2 material and then during others bottom 2.
Either way let’s hope Chelsea appoint Sarri’s replacement ASAP and we get this over and done with.

I'm bored of it now. If he goes, he goes. If Roman has tapped Frank up, part of me hopes it all backfires horribly and Roman & Chelsea look like fools and suffer in mid-table with a toxic fanbase after sacking Frank. Unfortunately I've got too much respect for Frank at this moment so I wouldn't want him to fail. I'm stuck, I want Chelsea to fail but Frank to succeed.

I disagree, i'm sure a few contradictory articles from the usual suspects has zero impact on the actual workings of the club. We will be discussed as the understudy to Chelsea in most articles because we are. For 99% of people outside of Derbyshire the story is primarily about who will be the manager of a massive London club with huge global outreach, thus that is how it is reported. It is not nice seeing a manager who you want to stay constantly linked with an exit, but thats life. And if we're discussing disrespect/immoral practice within the media the Lampard rumours would perhaps be the least of my concerns.

It will never go away until he’s there or had a go at the Chelsea job. Every time Chelsea are doing poorly or the job is vacant he will always be heavily heavily linked. I think we just have to get use to it
