Charlie Austin to lead the line next season ? hasn’t played loads in the championship last couple of seasons, will be 33… might he take a wage cut

That'd be a great signing. Unfortunately i don't think he'd drop to league one. I'd love cybulski to bulk up abit and become a 6ft 5 target man ?

Yeah I'm excited.  Gutted we're down but was mentally prepared for that as soon as we got those additional 9 points. Rooney's been saying for ages he had 2 lists - one for the Championship and one for League 1.  OK, I'm sure they'll have changed somewhat but, assuming CK gets it all done, when you consider the kudos Rooney has attracted with what he's done with this team, from bringing through youngsters still in pull up pants, to utilising the experience of players practically in incontinence pants, I wouldn't be surprised if there were quality players out there desperate to play under him and be part of our revolution.  What's not to be excited about.

To be honest , iv felt horrendous during this entire season , worrying if there will be a club to support at the end of it and whatever. But this relegation and potential take over has got me being positive again , excited for the incoming players that Rooney wants for his system but also to see the lads we've already got develop. Im hoping lawrence might stay with us after seeing how much Rooney has looked after him and made him captain. Ravel would prob smash league one if we went down ?

One of each strikers. We have a poacher in Stretton, could Kaz stay as the target man?

It will be interesting to see who he actually brings in when we are allowed anyone

Id like to keep Kazim as i think he'd strive in that league as its very physical , stretton hasnt really proved himself

  4. Anyone Excited for the potential rebuild? ( aslong as the take over goes through!)

Rooneys had to do his best with what hes got so im intrigued to find out how hes going to build the team for next season.

For example what kind of striker do you think hes looking for ? Target man? Poacher?

If we can keep our current starting 11 and add to it i think we're gonna be alright!

  5. I know it sounds ridiculous, but if we get the takeover through the door and hang on to our first team players. Im excited for the rebuild.

What do you guys think will happen in January window? Personally I think we’ll sell knight lawrence and Marshall to make up abit of cash

Fair enough, do it if the other team aren't immediately pressing - but if they are, it makes no sense.

There's a load of potential risks: a small risk of a very bad thing happening (ie today) and a large risk of a not-particularly-terrible-but-still-bad thing happening (aimless hurried clearance by the goalie or defender).

I guess you weigh that against the chance of something good coming from it, but really: how much gain, for how much potential pain? How 'pulled out of position' are they, really, and how many goals or scoring opportunities has this created v things like the completely unnecessary goal today?

I’d understand muckin about with it if we was a good enough team to go out and get plenty of goals. But risking it in your own area when we only score 1 goal a game is daft . I’d love to know how many times passing from the back has lead to opposition goals

City do it but that’s because anyone except Liverpool are or crazy enough to put two strikers on the edge ready to pounce.

Also - it’s not like we’re going to use ravishing speed beyond their defence for a quick break.

The alternative is though a big kick up field - where 90% of the time we will give possession away.

But it never works thus giving possession away anyway ? I’d rather hoof it away from danger and let kazim hold it uptop for 10mins ?

It was stupid as the Bournemouth players were too close. Was too risky. I think the idea is to draw the attackers in and then two attackers have been taken out after the next pass- to another defender. If it works, Bournemouth have 2 players taken out the match while we start an attack. I think on this occasion there was too much danger and the goalkeeper has to be able to control the ball perfectly!

But by kicking it long (which they do anyway after they’ve done the daft pass) it goes over the opposition players taking them out the game anyway ??‍♂️

The only other teams I’ve seen do it are the Italian national team and some Serie A teams. It can be effective with players who are comfortable on the ball under pressure, but today the Bournemouth press was quick and effective and a sloppy touch from Roos cost us a goal.

I don’t mind the thought behind it, but we need to have a plan B if we are facing a strong pressing team. Aka hoof.

I’ve never seen it. Is it successful abroad ?

Wayne explained it partly, post-match: it’s about drawing the opposition midfield out of shape. Wayne has told them to keep working on it despite the vitriolic fan disapproval. I must say, it looks like schoolboy football in a “car crash about to happen” scenario. I myself was coached in the % game and as a coach I wouldn’t allow that sort of defensive risk …but I’m no Wayne Rooney.

But the midfield don’t move ? Literally 2 forwards sit on edge of box and press as soon as Davies kicks it. I don’t mind passing out from the back if it’s done correctly. Time and a place.  Not when of the most pressing teams is literally on edge of ya box ? and they just hoof it anyway ?‍♂️Just seems strange. I’ve not seen any advantage from it ? Only seen it decimate Roos confidence when he concedes daft goals ?

  11. In Rooneys last interview he says something along the lines of “even if I manage for another 20 years , I’ll never experience another season like that” so I’m guessing behind the scenes is a right mess. Mel messed him up in the window only allowing loanees ?? Think Rooney will improve , don’t think he’s gonna get us play offs or owt , but I’d rather the club sorts itself out first . He goes on to say “it needs sorting tonight , need to get things in place” . So sounds like he’s begging for takeover so he can get some players in ??

We were linked with him in Jan and Rooney had wanted to get him.

This will be a sign of we can expect during the window.

Think Bristol city wanted him. And I think he’d rather go somewhere that ain’t about to go into administration ?

OK, Rooney’s Derby has 37 points from 32 games.

Some will suggest that surely this shows Rooney has done a good job as this would almost certainly be enough to survive if averaged across 46 games.

For those saying Rooney has done a good job and deserves time, ask yourself this: if there were 14 games of the season still to play, would you back us to stay up?

On current form, I wouldn’t. And that is what people are getting at.

People said the same about Cocu. 10th? Surely he’s doing a good job? Surely after such a chaotic season, he deserves more time?

People ignored the warning signs. It was brushed under the carpet that we ended last season really poorly under Cocu. It was brushed under the carpet that we had a miserable pre-season. It was brushed under the carpet that the squad was seriously lacking in key areas. It was brushed under the carpet that we had taken some huge gambles in the transfer market.

And before we knew it, we were 11 games in and any hopes of an exciting season had all but disappeared.

We stick by Rooney, and especially if Mel is still at the helm, and there is a strong chance of history repeating itself.

Every manager since rowett has been quick to point out that behind the scenes is a mess. No money to spend balancing the books. I don’t think cocu was the problem. He was asked to play Barca like football with a poo gaggle of players. Rooney is trying to grind out results aswell with pretty much the same team and couldn’t purchase anyone in the window. Can’t be expected to do anything with just kids from the academy. The league is very physical and our younger players just get bullied by the pooper teams.  Mel Morris is to blame. If we don’t get a takeover sorted we’re in trouble. Going into league 1 with something like 11 players out of contract at end of the season. And just academy players.

  14. Personally I like roo’s. Swapping and changing a back line  every game isn’t gonna help him either. He’s coming to prime goalkeeper age. Under lampard he was really good. But lampard pretty much kept same back line all season apart from the left back position.  Meanwhile under Rooney we’re swapping and changing every game. When we’ve played 3 at the back I think we have performed better.

  15. If selling really young academy players for a decent sum is what it takes to help our first team and stabilise the club. Then let it happen ??‍♂️ They could look good now but be poo when they get older ?? can you do add on’s with academy players ??
