  1. Again playing in a 2 with someone who can't run versus a 3 man midfield again, who being on fresh legs when we don't, again. Broke up 5 or 6 attacks and barely a misplaced pass. Won more headers than he lost and only a booking worthy challenge stopped him surging through 3 or 4 players to create a 3 on 2. Apart from that, passenger.
  2. Very attacking line up. Matching a 442 against a 352. Hard to predict this one.
  3. Most staff are on nothing like that
  4. How long is a piece of string Maybe buy an album from a classic band from a range of genres post the one ones you listed The Jam, The Specials, The Smiths, Stone Roses
  5. When does this not commenting start?
  6. He has a good shot on him due to his theory about using his laces.
  7. Arkwrights and Angels are by far the best in Belper for Real Ale. After that the Railway, Devonshire, Thorn Tree, Cross Keys and Grapes serve good beer in roughly that order
  8. Yep. Being good enough for our first team t years later doesn't make our decision to release him then a bad decision.
  9. It will be interesting to see if the injuries lead us to a back 3/5 or 4. The 3/5 would look like Nelson Bradley Cashin Barkhuizen Elder Whereas a 4 may look like Nelson Bradley Cashin Elder There may be a wildcard solution like Tommo at RWB.
  10. The trouble is, he wasn't Championship standard as his contract was ending. He had one good loan spell and then 2 so so ones. As with Ravas and Jakobsen how long do you wait? Maybe them leaving and playing regularly is the way for them to have the career they have now.
  11. If Cashin does go, Abbey would be a good replacement.
  12. The extent to which Bird and Hourihane carry the team is relative to their area. I would agree that the back 4 have been our strongest area, but in terms of midfield Bird and Hourihane, despite their faults, are way ahead of the others.
  13. I didn't say he was a bad signing, just not a 'big success'. He is an OK signing with potential to be good. Nutmegs are ok, creating assists is good.
  14. He is entertaining but to view him as a 'big success' or even 'above average' is a little over egging the pudding. He is an impact sub for a top 6 side. This side has been carried by the back 4, Hourihane, Bird, NML and Collins. All of theur faults but are above average. The other 2 places are support acts. Sadly these are now 4 support acts.
  15. For all his dribbles. How many goals and assists?
  16. Which bit do you disagree with?
  17. We put a bid in for CBT so we have some money. Maybe it is the wage bill that is the sticking point.
  18. Surely we wouldn't want both of them. One of them and a CF I would have thought
  19. If we don't add at least 2 good players we won't finish top 2. I'd suggest 3 or 4 to be favourites. I would add that if we add no one good and any 2 of Nelson, Cashin, Bird, Hourihane, NML or Collins got a long term injury we could easily miss out on the top 6.
  20. As much as you can draw clear conclusions from one game, either the drop-off from the first choice starting XI is bigger than we thought or one consequence of picking a settled side is, when you get a game like this, there are too many players who aren't match sharp. One thing that stood out for me was, for those who constantly snipe at Bird and Hourihane and want them dropped or sold, be careful what you wish for.
