  1. Lighten up a bit, I actually think this could be a very good signing.
  2. Good signing, fits in with the rest of Warne’s recruitment. I did think the treatment table was getting a bit empty.
  3. Think you’re missing a few as well - didn’t we throw away a 1-0 lead late on against Wycombe, for example? And we equalised against Wigan before throwing it away at home. Equalised at Stevenage and lost. Admittedly we were losing those games to start with, but it doesn’t scream “character” to me
  4. A lot of those games that we gained points in, we were winning in the first place and f***** it, if I recall correctly. I’m not counting them.
  5. Not clearly enough, I was around 8. I will have been at games but it’s fuzzy, which is probably a blessing!
  6. No it doesn’t, because yesterday we only turned it around due to scoring two worldie goals. There was no character and fight shown to turn that game around - we performed just as poorly across the 90 minutes. The rest of the team have Bird and Collins to thank for two moments of individual quality (and Mendez-Laing for creating the latter). Without those moments we lose that game. I’ll give you Oxford as one game where the team genuinely showed some balls and turned the tide of the game, but I really can’t think of many other examples. We’ve lost a lot more points this season from winning positions than we’ve gained from losing positions.
  7. First manager I have clear memories of is Nigel Clough, so I’ll start from him. Based on quality of football only, not necessarily results / managerial performance, I’d rank it as the following (only permanent managers included): 1. Steve McClaren 2. Frank Lampard 3. Paul Clement 4. Phillip Cocu 5. Nigel Clough 6. Wayne Rooney 7. Gary Rowett 8. Paul Warne 9. Nigel Pearson Nobody will ever beat the sheer incompetence of Nigel Pearson who is arguably the worst manager to ever sit in the Pride Park dugout. With the talent he had available, how he managed to deliver such woeful performances I will never know. But Paul Warne is the one who’s come closest in my opinion. I’ve always compared him to Rowett, in terms of being a dislikeable man who plays terrible, but effective football. Only Warne’s football isn’t effective enough, given the level he’s managing at and the quality of players at his disposal, so he falls below Rowett in my rankings. In my view Paul Warne has the easiest job of any Derby manager in my lifetime. Getting a squad with this much quality promoted from such a poor league should be something any idiot could manage. But he seems to be making a mess of it so far.
  8. It’s heading towards BBG standard at the moment!
  9. It needs sorting, looks absolutely dreadful at the moment. Not that we actually play on the grass anyway, so it’s not affecting our performances - but it’s pretty embarrassing for a club of our stature to have a pitch in that state. Groundsmen need to sort it out, and funds need to be in place to make it happen. We’re a professional outfit, not a Sunday league pub team.
  10. ATG Vickers 6 Wilson 6 Nelson 7 Cashin 8 Sibley 6 Barkhuizen 6 Hourihane 5 Fornah 6 Bird 8 Bradley 6 Blackett-Taylor 5 Thompson 5 Mendez-Laing 8 MOM Collins 8
  11. Fair enough, there are some exceptions. But I’d say the majority of this squad don’t have the fighting spirit and desire required to get promotion. And that’s one of the reasons why we’ll fail. You have to be relentless to get out of this league, we are not
  12. Another absolutely rancid display by a team that deserved all the booing they got at half time. You’d they’d want to show a reaction after Reading, but they just carried on where they left off. Tactics all wrong by Warne as well, he has to stop with this two in midfield s*** - it’s no coincidence our bad performances have started since we switched to 4-4-2. Absolutely awful system that has no place in the modern game. Totally overrun yet again. Fed up of our only tactic being launch it to the wings and whip it in - it’s so one dimensional. When we actually use the midfield and try to play a bit of football through the thirds, then we look so much better! Why can our dinosaur of a manager not see this… Im beginning to really dislike this team itself, as well as the fraud in the dug out. At least the team that went down had some character. This lot couldn’t give a f***. And as for captain Hourihane… words can’t describe my feelings towards his “leadership”. We were so lucky to win that game today, it’s only a moment of individual quality from Max Bird that turned it around. It’s time this manager and this team got a f****** grip. Performances this week have been truly pathetic, were meant to be the best team in the league!
  13. If Warne makes a joke in the interview and laughs that performance I think I might actually smash my phone in
  14. Embrassing. This team won’t even make top 6. Results are now matching our poor performances. No fight, no desire, no heart
  15. This sorry lot need roundly booing off the pitch
  16. 5 minutes… do we have to? And there’s the inevitable injury to John-Jules. What a stupid move to extend his loan
  17. Least we can have a third crack at the EFL Trophy next season
  18. Bradley and Ward… wow we really do want Reading to score another don’t we?
  19. Elder is the only one who should stay in the team at the weekend
  20. I’d drive Hourihane back to Aston Villa, seen more effort in walking football
  21. He’s not bias, but this referee might be the worst I’ve ever seen. Entirely incompetent at his job
  22. I still don’t get why we extended John-Jules loan. He hasn’t looked very good so far
  23. Still no changes Paul? This your idea of a good performance?
