It would be nice to win today but a draw is more than acceptable

Really 🤔 Our ITK sources say we have been in talks with Posh for weeks about him and there was genuine interest. Perhaps they got their wires crossed 😊
I am sure we we’re interested in him but Peterborough we’re not selling to us unless we paid them what they wanted and not what they agreed with Bristol rovers
-
We are slow in defence and lack cover for injuries and people who can’t perform anymore
midfield lacks invention
forwards have experience and no how and I expect a decent return from all of them
overall we should be fine and get automatic promotion but that is based on the other clubs being inconsistent and more rubbish than we can achieve
it’s promotion and fear for next season in the championship when we would be exposed every week unless something very strange occurs

Strikers banging them in at Championship level don’t come cheap 🤔 I think for a million he might have been worth the risk, especially if a staged payment could have been agreed plus add ins for promotion etc
Yes maybe but Peterborough we’re not selling him to us for £1 million in the summer window even if we actually had a spare £1 million to spend plus wages for that kind of player.

I'll be amazed if they sack him unless they're in the bottom 5 at Christmas. They've made some shrewd signings, got rid of quite a bit of the dross eft over from last season so I can see a comfortable mid-table finish for them (10th-14th or thereabouts).
It pains me to write this.
Yet what the owner expects is a different scenario 😉

And Derby with saleable assets in a position to pounce in January should we feel the need.
If we were in the top two in January I would be expecting automatic promotion and then we would need a better forward for the championship so would be wanting to buy better than him with that in mind.

Surprised this was a free transfer in the end.
Good signing for Barnsley.Birmingham wanted £18,000 a week of the wage bill
-
Another complete mess again, even if they signed no one they would easily have stayed up due to the promoted clubs being so poor
I haven’t heard of any of the ones they have signed at this point

Sounds like there is a recall clause then?

Poundland Mason Mount. Mobile without being quick. Neat, two footed, doesn't produce enough end product at Championship level, kind of does at League One level.
That just about sums up our squad

Let’s remember the utter garbage we have signed on transfer deadline day in the past 20 years and not to mention what was stolen from us from the predators

That’s good and helpful but does sound like it’s part of what we thought we had received already - would much prefer to still have the talent here though

Lost his place at Sheffield Wednesday as the new manager is playing Gregory in midfield as the preferred option 🤨

Is it just me but doesn’t our defence look well dodgy and need improving?

If we managed to put more than 1 or 2 decent crosses in a game, then maybe he'd spend less time hunting the ball and more time waiting to get on the end of them, eh Paul?
Amazingly, switching to playing actual wingers rather than wingbacks seems to have coincided with getting more crosses in (who'd a thunk it?). I reckon NML put more decent crosses in the first 45 against Fleetwood than he, Wilson and Ward had managed between them in the previous 4 games (not a criticism of the players, more of the system). So obviously we dropped Collins and went for players who are less effective in the air than Collins up front.
Who would have thought that playing NML at wide right for 65 minutes runs the opposite side ragged then Ward could simply just come on and cross the ball whilst Wilson can play in the Pizza cup

Tbf Pep is known to let players go if they want to leave, helps have a happy squad.
Man City selling has been rather exceptional, they sell just after players reach their peak football wise and have good value still but they always have someone just as good or better arriving at the club

How long does he have left on his contract?
Also where has the fee of a couple of million come from? Perhaps if Peterborough are becoming desperate to not lose him for free and there’s not the interest they expected, it might be a much smaller fee than most expect.
In his last year of his contract and not signing another one at Peterborough - exactly the same situation as we had with knight and have with Bird and Cashin - he is much cheaper in January and free in the summer - Peterborough put everyone on the transfer list if they reach the last year of their contract because they can’t afford to watch them leave for nothing. I think that’s the same with the defender they have who is decent (knight I think)
-
At least they didn’t put out their best players? I don’t know what their best players would be ? Anyway they can concentrate on getting those 10 one nil wins to finish 16th if everything goes well for them

Think people will be disappointed when Warne says we might get 1 loan player in tomorrow in his presser
Depends if we are actually to loan a decent player ?

Interesting comments from PW regarding free agents and apparently one in particular that he fancied back in May, but was set on championship football and is still on the market. Players like that will be a lot more reasonable with their demands after the weekend and the longer it goes on the more reasonable their demands will become.
So, a signature signing may come after the window closes.

Maybe unwarranted sexual advances warrant a lynch mob? 🤔
The bit where the Spanish players weren’t allowed to lock their rooms at night intrigued me and sounded like there might be a more to this story than has been aired.

If Cashin stays for the season and we get promoted I would expect him to extend his contract with us at that point but currently my understanding is that he is the lowest paid player in our match day players and by some way.

Not sure about our side today - expecting lots of disjointed stuff
no Tompson or Cashin starting are a miss no matter what
we will find out if the former forest third teamer is any good very quickly
