News reports that state 'Joe Bloggs, 46, an unemployed warehouse worker from Allenton, has been remanded into custody and will appear before magistrates in a month'.
Show some ambition man, if you're jobless you might as well be an unemployed astronaut rather than a redundant stock picker!

I know what you mean. I was amused rather than annoyed by the fact the EU in/out campaigns had to officially name their campaigns as "Vote Leave" and "Britain Stronger In Europe". Do they think people are that thick?

......following on from the annoying people thread
Why does everything nowadays have to be "dubbed as" something.
Just reading on BBC News that today has been "dubbed as 'Super Thursday'" because of the elections. Why?. By Whom?. Why do we need everything to effectively have a Brand?
Don't get me started on why every scandal has to be .....gate?
I realise it's lowest-common-demonator stuff dreamed up by a lazy media copying a USA format but it does my head in.

A couple of months ago I bought a beautiful 9carat gold Automatic Garrard watch as supplied th the top Royals. It has Quartz like accuracy and I had a squid change from £200. Lovely watch. Great investment IMO. Came from EBay in original box with it's original case, and warranty.

I admire them but they sometimes seem a little vulgar to me, but each to his own ! ?
phoenix, mine is slim and light . It is about the thickness of a pound coin and that includes the glass. The movement which is self winding is 2.1mm thick. Fascinating to look at.

I can make some inquiries about those straps. I'll let you know about that.
I must say my favourite is the Bremont U2 Blue Dial. It is modified ETA but it has some great aspects when used in rough circumstances.
I also have this golden vintage dress watch in mint condition from 1969 by Glycine. Haven't come across with another one anywhere.

That was my gut feeling too.
I am no collector but I do like watches and always have done. I have a modern Seamaster planet Ocean that I wear every day and another of Dads and old 18ct bump automatic omega circa 1950 .. It says Seamaster but my watch mending man says it isn't waterproof

Cisse .. I have an audemars piget skeletal automatic. 2120s calibre.. Thinnest auto movement ever made 18ct 21ct rotor .. Early 1970's I think. It was my Dads .. It's round though and to be honest it is difficult to read. It is a work of art though.

An AP is always an AP. Vintage watches are still in demand and the size wise I believe huge watches are already past their peak. Financial times are hard everywhere and since I don't know the actual model it's hard to say but I would expect it be about £3000-£4000 with the right buyer.
