  1. That's a good point. Whilst no doubt a tad irritating, presumably folk will soon get use to the idea of not putting your ticket away until you're in your area. Maybe (I honestly don't know), such extra vigilant stewarding is a requirement in order to obtain/retain a licence for safe standing. 🤷‍♂️
  2. Surely it’s been proven beyond much doubt now that the main problem at Hillsborough was the number of people being allowed/forced into a confined space that wasn’t large enough to accommodate them. There had been standing at football matches, with very little incident, long before Hillsborough. I would also say they clearly have learned from Hillsborough. As annoying as it sounds like it was, frequent checks of tickets should prevent any particular area becoming over crowded I would have thought and, whilst the primary purpose of the rails I would imagine is to stop you falling over the seats, they should also eliminate the risk of a mass of bodies surging forward and pinning unfortunates against the lesser number of rails we use to have on the terraces.
  3. I have often wondered why defending teams don’t leave a player (or two) up when defending corners. I can’t remember where I saw it, but I’m sure it was said by someone with some authority (so none of us on this forum then😀) that the reason is because it’s usually more advantageous to the defending team to have a packed penalty box. I might be making it up but I’m sure I read it somewhere.
  4. Judging by the number of tickets sold I think they’re still practicing social distancing.😀
  5. Cheers buddy. I’ll be relying on this forum for carefully thought out and sensible updates 😀 as I can’t stand listening to footy on the radio. Nothing too serious in the scheme of things but I’ll probably miss the Lincoln game as well. As long as the Rams collect all 6 points I’ll be happy.
  6. We held against the energy and pressure against Portsmouth for 94 minutes in September.😀
  7. We all have to adjust to the league we’re currently playing in so, I’d say the likes of Portsmouth and Bolton are big games. Wycombe very much less so.
  8. After I had surgery yesterday I’ll be missing this one (yes I know B4 would have come up with some great solutions). First home league game I’ve missed for as long as I can remember.
  9. You'd like to think so but this league has a habit of throwing out some unexpected results. Their current form is shocking but they have picked up points away at both Oxford and Peterborough as recently as the back end of October.
  10. I think one of the biggest problems, and I’ll freely admit I have been as guilty as most, is that often many of us find it difficult to admit the person we are arguing with has a point. Even if some of us concede, in our own minds, that another person actually has a good point, we often feel the need to have the last word. This means we’ll sometimes go off at a tangent and the debate becomes protracted.
  11. Just finished watching the Netflix mini series “Painkiller”. A drama based on the true story surrounding the abusive prescribing of the opioid drug Oxycotin. A disturbing yet excellent watch. Highly recommended.
  12. I don't care too much about "watching Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal". I only Match of The Day (fast forwarding through the the pundits bits of course) for something to watch. I yearn for the day when the "big clubs" disappear off to some mega bucks super league.
  13. I don't think these stats are correct. Not much better but both the BBC and Sky have higher numbers all round.
  14. But it's not instructive if you don't know was said. Also, as @Returning ram says, football is an emotional game and players will, from time to time, disagree and have a bit of a rant at the coaching staff and their fellow players. One alleged in game fall out between Sibley and Warne isn't necessarily an indication of their ongoing relationship. I'm not sure what the comment about the fourth official has got to do with this mini debate.
  15. They might prefer an “easier” tie at home against lower league team in order to progress to the next round and meet a WSL team later in the tournament. Pros and cons for both.
  16. I think he is skating on thin ice and could easily upset or cause offence if his poor attempts at adding a bit of humour weren’t so clearly signposted as I believe they were on this occasion meaning, this time I doubt very much Sibley would be bothered by what he said.
  17. And there was me thinking it’s because you’re finding it a little more difficult to criticise at the moment after 5 consecutive league wins. 😀 Surely you’re not denying Warne is a bit of a joker? Whether his attempts at funny comments are very funny or not is a different matter. I don’t think they are most of the time. I don’t see it as a cheap shot (what exactly is a cheap shot?) just my thoughts on why you might say certain things.
  18. Yes. IMO. Barker doesn’t think he’s funny and neither do many of us I suspect (myself included) a lot of the time but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t trying to make a bit of joke. He also said Barks scored a screamer when clearly he didn’t. Generally speaking, my default opinion (although not always the case) is that PW is making a bad attempt at making a bit of a joke. Your’s seems to be to try and spot any small comment and to interpret it in such a way that you can criticise him (even after we’ve just won 3:0 and won our last five games). I guess we’ll have to leave it to others to determine which of is most accurate.
  19. That is a typical @RoyMac5 comment. Ignoring the positive things PW was saying about Sibley and cherry picking (and then misinterpreting IMO) one comment part of which was clearly a tad tongue in cheek. I’ve just listened to the interview and he said “I’m glad he scored otherwise he would have been in deep….. as he could have put Birdy in”. Note he said could not should and. Had he not scored, I’m sure we would all have been screaming “why didn’t he pass to Bird?” We didn’t scream it because Sibley did score but we all know PW likes to try and add a bit of humour to his interviews. We’ll never know but I reckon Sibley will realise that as well and will not be thinking “FFS, I score and he’s still not happy”.
  20. Looks like GBH to be. Absolutely disgusting. Even if he and Collins had been tussling all game, there is no justification for such an assault.
  21. I agree that Sibley can’t be criticised for taking the shot on mainly because he scored of course but also because he didn’t have the benefit of slo mo and freeze frame. However, I disagree with your opinion of Bird’s position or the likelihood of scoring. IF Sibley had got the pass right (just in front of Bird for him to run on to) and played it early enough then Bird would have been through with just the keeper to beat. The defender was too far out and would not have closed the gap if the pass had been played early enough. Also, if Bird had “bombed forward” then he would either have been offside or it would have been difficult for Sibley to play it in front of him, and get it around their number 5, without it being too close to the keeper. All if’s but’s and maybe’s. The important thing is the outcome was a good one.
  22. Surely anyone talking about the team not playing for Warne now realise they are talking rubbish. I wasn’t at the game but the amount of players sprinting forward for that final effort was remarkable considering we were already 3:0 up.
  23. I don’t think the EFL ask for details of future plans from prospective buyers do they?
