Warne has made a mess of the transfer window. Despite almost all our existing players not being suited to it, he committed to changing the formation of the team to a 3-5-2, and signed players for this. Now he's gone back to a back-four and we're playing relatively better.

Two of his signings were RWBs who are now going to have to play out of position at either RB or RM if they get into the team. He's now signed Nyambe because we didn't have an orthodox RB. What a waste of resources that could have been used elsewhere.

He seemed to put most of his efforts during the transfer window into signing strikers because he needed two for his 3-5-2 formation. Despite acknowledging there was a lack of strikers on the market at the time. He ended up signing three strikers and it looks like we're only playing with one at the moment, as Waghorn looks like he's playing at CAM.

Imagine if he'd just built on last seasons 4-2-3-1 and signed some decent wingers, a CAM, and a striker.

Good points. Recruitment the down fall once again. Can’t wait for January, leave it till the last day and mess it up again. Repeat

I remember us 1 up 30 mins into a game, we had the ball, thier keeper was well off his line and out of the box.  Coutts ran the ball to the corner flag to waste time at home with an hour of football still to play, rather than shooting at distance at an open goal.

Clough stood on the sidelines clapping, that summed up his lack of ambition and his negativity.  Thats why attendances dropped, not fickle fans, just ones who could not believe a team at home would be wasting time rather than take a shot at an open goal....

I missed games because of this sort of thing. So did thousands of others 👏

I think the Sammon signing probably cost Nigel his job. But previous to that , if I remember rightly Clough was not allowed to play Steve Davis because of the cost of add-ons? His two other Scottish signings - Bryson and Russell were superb.

Recruitment of Bryson and Russell both excellent yes. He had some decent budget when you think about it but overall was successful in recruitment. Sammon tarnished it but he gets away with it with all the good ones to be fair.

Best 90 minutes of football we've produced this season.

Fans seem to forget that there are 11 opposition players out there doing their level best to stop us. If they do their jobs well, and Cambridge were very well organised and disciplined in their game plan execution, any team is going to struggle to win.

You sound like that sort of person that buys a pack of jam doughnuts, bites into it and there’re no jam. But your content so carry on eating it, no need to take it back or complain.

Somewhat contradictory! Claiming  Clough was sacked when the team were flourishing yet providing the dire attendances at that time. He had 4 years and we were going nowhere , with little entertainment. Warne has had 12 months and massive restrictions on signings, with no Barker type fees. His football is no better but he deserves more time

Would love a “Barker type fee” now!

oh how pathetic that saying was like we was meant to feel sorry for his tight restrictions. Connor Sammon over a million anybody. Can we have “Sammon type fees” too please!

We can't afford to get rid of him. The sensible thing would be to wait for him to get us promoted (either this or next season) and as soon as he does hand him his p45 and get him gone.

He won’t get us promoted. He inherited a top end league 1 Rotherham with the tools for promotion. He didn’t build anything there. As soon as he went they stayed up after 3 warne Relegations.

Bird is one of our best players, if not the best. It's probably between him and Cashin. Not sure what your issue is with him, but we're lucky to have him at this level.

He has ability, more ability than most players in his position certainly in this league.

Issue is he should be doing more with it. He doesn’t score or assist or isn’t that effective in the final third. He doesn't win the ball, gets outmuscled and rarely wins a 50/50. Yes he can play a sideways pass but he has the ability to be more effective.

1 in 10 games he’ll drop an 8/10 performance but then he doesn’t build on it. With his ability he should be dominating midfields in this division but don’t he? Does he heck.

Doesn’t take responsibility. Is it a character thing? Lacking in desire I’ve never got it with Bird. Nothing anyone will say will ever change my mind.
He can of course if he ups his game to become the player he can be.

But this is a terrible league and if he’s as good as many think he is and many like me know he can be a lot better but the problem is our midfield are regularly out fought and out passed with Bird in particular passive too often.

Hourihane is similar in some ways but CH at least offers more in the final 3rd and certainly in terms of goals/assists.

Houihane has a good career and held his own in the prem but his legs have gone. Bird is 23 approaching his prime years. He should be showing a lot more not getting dominated in this league losing tackles not making anything happen!

So not the recurring injury which has dogged him in the past, so, according to you, the recruitment team should gave foreseen this happening.

You've moved on from giving Max Bird the big stick to the recruitment team so watch out Mr Clowes, it might be your turn next.

Well if the recruitment team did a good job then max Bird wouldn’t get near the first team. Then we would probably have a chance of actually going up and not falling behind the likes of Exeter Stevenage and port vale in the league

The points with and without him last season suggest otherwise.

Agree about last season. However this season we were getting battered by the likes of Oxford and Blackpool reserves to name 2 with Bird in midfield. Yes we are not playing much football but results have got better without Bird. We will see what happens when he’s back. Book mark this anyone that wants to. Let’s see what happens

Southampton have paid £20 mill for Taylor H-Bellis from City . He has never played Prem football . Brighton only want to pay £3 mill for Cashin. Why don’t we ever get top dollar? And don’t even mention the price of Brennan Johnson is up to £60 mill plus now!

To be fair THB won the championship last year whilst Cashin does struggle every now and again in league 1.
