  1. Probably lots of twists and turns yet. Nothing with Derby is easy, and here we are again without a centre forward, playing on Saturday. If we can overcome that hurdle I'll be much more confident about not putting these dates in my calendar.
  2. Apparently Google DeepMind have been using AI to help Liverpool with their corners. Anyone for TacticAI?
  3. On the plate. Anything else is an abomination.
  4. Agree. I'd like to keep Joe, but his rushes of blood leading to two penalties have been odd. I feel his overall confidence and command helps the defence, meaning I'm extremely happy he's regained the shirt. And his game management when we've needed it has been excellent. But if he does want to leave he's not irreplaceable. We got him for next to nothing, as was the same for Ryan Allsop who I thought a better keeper. It's a position where there is always another one along if you need.
  5. Things are starting to ramp up properly. COO Gwynne Shotwell was talking at a meeting today and said 6-7 weeks until Test flight 4. She added that key things for this test would be to get closer to landing both the booster and the Starship, so they wouldn't be carrying and launching any Starlink satellites just yet.
  6. @angieramhas been posting the international call ups for our Academy youngsters, as and when, in that thread. But I thought not everyone looks in there and we have nine kids away on this international break. An amazing achievement. Or have I missed others? The future's looking pretty bright. Here they are: Jack Thompson (GK) England U18 Keilen Robinson (defender) England U19 Dan Cox (defender) Wales U19 Cruz Allen (midfield) Wales U17 Darren Robinson (midfield) N Ireland U21 Niall McAndrew (midfield) Ireland U17 Charlie Lindsay (forward) N Ireland U21 Carlos Richards (forward) Gibraltar U21 Dajaune Brown (forward) Jamaica U23 (he's only 18 and is also eligible for England)
  7. Pixies tonight at the Town and Country, aka the "O2 Forum". Sadly it's apparently one of those weird album tours where they don't play their hits. Just give the punters what they want!
  8. The question before us is, with Gayle presumably out, do we recall Dajaune from Gateshead for the Northampton game? Or do we rely on Waghorn, or NML, or try to play without a recognized striker?
  9. I confess I have never seen that as a requirement, so have circumvented any complicated problems. Meanwhile: A teenager brings her new boyfriend home to meet her parents. They’re horrified by his haircut, his tattoos, his piercings. Later, the girl’s mother says, “Dear, he doesn’t seem to be a very nice boy.” “Oh, please, Mum!” says the daughter. “If he wasn’t nice, would he be doing 500 hours of community service?”
  10. Should have called this thread something around Dajaune Brown - I thought at the time, other key U21s would be out on loan. Dajaune played the full game yesterday as Gateshead lost 4-2 away at Ebbsfleet. A Gateshead central defender was sent off after 5 minutes, so Brown's striking partner was sacrificed meaning it was probably a tough game. No goals for our boy, but Gateshead were 1-2 up at half-time. Guessing they ran out of steam.
  11. Surely @i-Ramcan double as Mr Darcy?
  12. Grr. Damn the typos. An opportunity to move seven points clear with six GAMES to go. Away at Northampton who are mid-table with nothing to play for. Hopefully already on the beach.
  13. Well observed, listening on the wireless, and Radio Derby mentioned Angie and her daughter.
  14. Today's results: Peterborough 0 Portsmouth 1 RAMS 1 Bolton 0 Barnsley 0 Cheltenham 0 The table now looks: None of the other top five play next weekend, so it's an opportunity to go seven points clear with six points to go.
  15. Guaranteed a top 10 finish! Tenth is our lowest possible position.
  16. Well done to players, management and fans. Stood up and were counted on the biggest day of the season so far. Seven games to go, but there is clear blue water now.
  17. Not liked our subs - a very defensive mindset, inviting pressure which we're so often not good at resisting. That said, we scored just after Elder came on. Probably just as well we did or it would have been the Alamo for the last 25 minutes. Can we hold out? So close now you can almost touch it.
  18. Crowd has been excellent - sometimes I worry when it's a full house that it tends to be quieter and more pressured. Not checked the thread for a while. In case not previously mentioned, I wanted to say there was a moment for Angie Vallance, talked about on Radio Derby. Well done to the DCFC family.
  19. Korey Smith coming on for Gayle, giving us another body in midfield, probably NML up top.
  20. We sound under the cosh. Still 0-0 because of an incredible save from Wildsmith. Fittingly Eric Steele on the commentary. Derby midfield keep losing the ball and Gayle is injured and looks to be coming off.
  21. I did actually find this funny. I presume you don't pay for Twitter, so you want a free service? Apologies if wrong. And then you openly admit can't even be bothered to configure it yourself to match your interests, so you expect Twitter to go out of its way to better work out what you might want to see, and deliver that to you in a way you prefer - all free of charge. And, at the same time, aren't you starting your own business or businesses, where you're probably hoping to have paying customers whose money will help keep you going and deliver them a better service? Some would call that cognitive dissonance. Twitter is a personal broadcasting service - most everyone cares how many people see their tweets. Though I remember when Jack Dorsey was running it, he said the most interesting person who was tweeting was Elon Musk. There are worse people's tweets to look at than those of the person most involved with building a better future for Humanity. It's good that without extra guidance from you as to what you'd prefer to see, this is what the algorithm sends you.
  22. Wonderful! They filmed the Cosmos scene where he says this in my college. And in about three weeks I shall actually be sitting in his office in Cornell - perhaps I should bring an apple pie for the current incumbent?
  23. That video is great and then, bizarrely, ruined at the end by adding Sea Dragon - a 1960s concept vehicle that only exists in videogames. Why? Why would they do that? Meanwhile, look at how far Starship has come in such a short time:
