  1. If carlsberg did season ends. southampton beat Leicester and Leeds to sneak into the top two at their expense. Coventry or someone win the play offs. Leicester and Leeds both get smashed with massive points deductions. meanwhile, Forest scrape into 17th by a point, but loose there appeal and have 2pts taken off for a spurious appeal. And get smashed with more points deductions next season for good measure. Forest, Leeds and Leicester as good as down already, might as well call off the relegation (only problem is that boro can’t go with them). oo, boro have a terrible last few games of the season and go down from the championship with Rotherham and Birmingham. we of course win all of our last three games, while Portsmouth loose all theirs, and we go up as champions. Ready for a back to back push riding the waves of positivity.
  2. I’m so torn!! It’s hilarious watching Leicester let there massive lead slip away. But if they slip out of the top 2, that means Leeds get in. I can’t work out who I want to go up less.
  3. But that’s exactly why there needs to be some rules in place. Without the rules, the owners don’t know this, think they can do what they want, and then just f*** up the club that isn’t their’s.
  4. Ahem - Morgan Whittaker - ahem.
  5. And what sort of deterrent is minus 2? They’ll make that up in the first game. That’s just equivalent to any game where they stupidly let in an equaliser in the last minute. We effectively got a minus two punishment in our last game for the crime of being a bit crap. They secured promotion and the riches that comes with through their breaches. It’s like saying they’re going to deter diving by handing out yellow cards, and then that becomes a slap on the wrist. send them off, you’ll soon see it stop. And demote teams that break the rules, you’ll soon see it stop. (although that is a bit like advocating the death penalty for shoplifting. Maybe I’m a tyrant. I hope not.)
  6. Counter argument. So Goldstein was saying that a referee told him that the litmus test was, if Neuer was Saka’s baby, could he have got out of the way rather then kicking him? The answer maybe yes, but at the speed he was going, it’s not up to saka to try to avoid contact and possibly contort himself in an unnatural way to hurdle Neuer. Neuer was on a trajectory to make contact, and got no where near the ball. Saka shouldn’t have to do him any favours to try to avoid the contact. the mistake Saka made, if anything, was sticking his leg out. If he’d just kept running straight, Neuer would’ve taken him out.
  7. Break the bank for a great striker and all they need to do is snatch you a last gasp winner and two last gasp equalizers (ie turn a draw into a win and two losses into draws) and the 4pts were worth it.
  8. Or put it another way, and they have a lot of high pressure 6 pointers. All those clubs will be targeting Forest as 6pts they need to get. If they loose all those games, they’re screwed.
  9. That’ll teach them not to do whatever it was they did again. 2 whole points. That’s two hard fought draws that were a wages of time. Plummets them all the way down to 16th, still 2pts ahead of Forest with a game in hand. Hardly worth the agro was it.
  10. Have faith brother. We’re winning this league.
  11. Yes it is. It’s the difference between us finishing second or first. C’mon Bolton!!
  12. If we win all ours it won’t matter. It’s in our hands. Second’s alright I guess, but I’ve never seen us win anything in my life time, just the playoffs once. We were second with Jim smith. If you could guarantee me a play off win, I’d rather take that. Second’s just a bit meh. mind you, Ipswich were second. If we emulate that, I’ll be well pleased.
  13. I’d have taken that. But to really come for pompey now we’re looking for maximum points from our last 4 games and they need to win 2, lose 2 and draw 1. That’s doable. It’s still on I reckon. They’ve still got Bolton, Barnsley and Lincoln to play. We’ve got nothing but winnable games from here on out. in fact, they only have one team to play that currently lower than the highest team we have to play Wycombe. i know this is tempting far too much fate, but it really should be plain sailing for us from now on, but Portsmouth have a few tricky fixtures to navigate.
  14. I kind of want Leicester to go up now. Start with a 10pt deduction and have to sell a load of players with no chance to buy. They might have half a chance of beating our record then.
  15. I think we shared the record for longest stay in the championship too. Along with Forest. So if we can share a bit of their fortune, form, whatever and follow their trajectory, that would be nice.
  16. If we lose any of our last three games, that would be a s*** day. But I’d expect us to win all of those, and if we do, we’re up. Simple as. If we get a result tomorrow, that will be a good day, but if we loose, it’s really not the end of the world. A disappointing day does not make a s*** day. I’m disappointed when I don’t win the lotto on a Saturday, but it’s not really worth crying about. I’d have a lot of s*** days if that was my barometer.
  17. Turns out I had sent this post after all. Stupid forum posting software lying to me.
  18. No it wasn’t a good day. Don’t be daft. It just wasn’t a s*** day. It was just a normal day. It’s allowed to be a normal day.
  19. I wasn’t sure if I could possibly say anything comforting here. But also couldn’t just leave it with a like on your post. I’ve been thinking about you over Easter, and have everything crossed for your second scan. Whatever the outcome though, it sounds like there’s some hard decisions to come. Life absolutely sucks sometimes. But at some point in the future, could be a year, could be 5 years, could be ten years, you’ll be happy, and you’ll look back and wonder how the hell you got through this. But you did. And whatever has happened, all the good, and the bad, has got you to that point of being happy, whatever that looks like. it might seem like a long way off, but it’s there waiting for you. always remember “this too shall pass.”
  20. Exactly. That was you being hopeful, not realistic. I hope to be awoken with a bj every morning, but I can’t call it a s*** day just because I’m not.
  21. Liverpool have got United again. As crap as United are, they can beat anyone on their day. (yes, that is an absolute dig at United, they are in the category of Brighton now, where they can ‘beat anyone in their day’).
