  1. Delighted that Ryan gets a new deal, though whilst I enjoyed Namibia turning over a higher ranked Tunisian team, I'm hoping he's back soon! My selfish concerns aside, national selection and a new deal are nothing less than he's earned and with one eye on the future, this is another important box ticked. Well played Mr Clowes and Warney too of course. On a general note, I'm loving the way the club is locking in our best current players. Obviously there's a deal of work to be done and we'd all like to see a couple in if they can improve our starting 11 but for me, the most critical part of this window was not losing key players and thus far, we're doing OK on that score! Should we manage to escape this league this season and personally, I think we will, it clearly makes a deal of sense to secure the services of a core group of players who are young, or of good age and who can likely prosper at a higher level. And before anyone says it, yeah, Nate rather bucks that trend, but that lad's a specimen and will probably still be playing at 37 or 38. The others are hopefully part of Derby's brighter future and that dream does seem more real with each passing day of this season. On that note, does this not rather put an end to theories about players not liking Warne or enjoying his methods, too? Seems to me that those who have actually played for Warne are more than happy to stick with him, indeed bar those still finding full fitness after injuries, all the players all look fit as fleas, unified and all are playing with smiles on their faces. More to be pleased about than not I reckon. COYR
  2. Well after nearly 4 hours of football, Notts have finally managed to get their noses in front...
  3. I'd fancy your chances of seeing off Wales, even in their own backyard tbf, but sorry to hear about the trains. Are you based in Scotland - maybe a flight instead. Edinburgh to Cardiff is about £100 IIRC.
  4. Forest are getting battered here. It could be 4-2 to Blackpool 😂
  5. Hahaha. Win, lose or draw, watching the Gumps getting outfought by division 3 Blackpool is funny AF.
  6. Fun fact. You could buy Blackpool's entire team, ground and all the pies in the freezer for less than Notts Forest paid for Gibbs-White's buttocks. True story! As for the game, you'd have to wonder WTF is going on when you're struggling to put away such a weak side - FFS come on Blackpool, sort it out! On the subject of them lot from down the road struggling for sponsors, maybe they just need stop waiting for Apple, Emirates and Samsung to smash in their backdoors and to widen the net a little by looking at some less glamourous product lines to promote. You know, something more in keeping with their station and ethos? A few suggestions and there's no need to thank me!
  7. England's Six Nations squad Forwards: Ollie Chessum, Dan Cole, Alex Coles, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Chandler Cunningham-South, Ben Curry, Theo Dan, Alex Dombrandt, Ben Earl, Ellis Genge, Jamie George (capt), Joe Heyes, Nick Isiekwe, Maro Itoje, Joe Marler, Beno Obano, Tom Pearson, Ethan Roots, Will Stuart, Sam Underhill. Backs: Oscar Beard, Danny Care, Elliot Daly, Fraser Dingwall, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, George Ford, Tommy Freeman, George Furbank, Ollie Lawrence, Alex Mitchell, Tom Roebuck, Henry Slade, Fin Smith, Marcus Smith, Ben Spencer, Freddie Steward. Arundell, Willis, Marchant, Ribbans among others who are ineligible for England selection under residency rules, yet Welshman Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is fine as he wants to finish up University in England. Don't get me wrong, Immanuel is free to choose and I welcome a player of his outstanding ability, it's just restriction of trade enforced by the RFU that makes me want to scream. On that subject, Arundell has extended to 2026 with Racing 92, so we can look forward to seeing him pulling on a French jersey not too long thereafter. You couldn't make it up!
  8. Would he rather he walked at the end of the season? Where would you rather play?
  9. Blimey! Will there be feeds for the game?
  10. Not terribly compelling, is it? We could have sold BJ and adhered to FFP rules, but we thought we'd royally take the piss instead 😂
  11. 31Vickers 6.0 - Sorry, but I still don't think Joe should have been dropped. Josh is a really nice lad and a decent stopper, but Joe is the #1 at this club and get fingertips to stuff other keepers at this level don't. 2Wilson 7.0 - I love this lad. Runs hard all game, always wants to take his man on, never goes missing and leaves it all on the pitch. He's a cracking signing and he'll do for the Championship too. 35Nelson - 6.5 - Another solid game, but I do think he misses the steadying influence of Nyambe a little, though in fairness, I think that's true of the defence in general. 6Cashin - 7.5 - The lad with the world at his feet, or at very least a very good career ahead of him, yet here he is, still at Derby, still grafting, still working for the team. 20Elder - 6.0 - Understandably rusty and was left high and dry for the second goal, but there's a player in there and I don't understand the need some have to jump all over the lad's s*** when he barely had any football. Way too early to judge, but some love to go early, don't they! 17Sibley - 6.0 - Not sure what to say about Sibbo these days. He's not, it would appear, ever going to be used where he needs to play, but the team is prospering all the same. I'd love to keep him as I know what he can do, but if he doesn't fit now, will he ever while PW is coach? 11Méndez-Laing - 8.0 - I'm now quite used to seeing him charging up our right flank, going two for everybody else's one. The lad just looks so happy in himself right now and the fact that is reflected in his form is a credit to both Warne and Nate himself. 8Bird - 7.0 - More than any other player in the side, Max convinces me that some fans don't have a fookin scooby. Solid again, despite being outnumbered in MF. 4Hourihane - 7.5 - Another who gets his pelters, but for me, his consistency is improving all the time. We're now seeing more decent run-outs than not and while you could argue that's what we should expect, it's pretty welcome in Casa 86 all the same. 7Barkhuizen - 8.5 MOTM - GTFI there Tommy boy. Been on your case a bit this season and you've only gone and made me look a right mug. This lad looks like he's benefitting from more game time and is starting to hit his straps in no uncertain terms. He was excellent last night. Fair play to Warne again. 5Bradley - 7.0 - Given him a 7 as nobody slagged him off last night so he must have been almost perfect. 19John-Jules - 7.5 - Showed really good awareness of players around him with some deft touches, even with the man mountain that is Burton's Sweeney halfway up his jacksie. Another player coming in for some stick, but we'd not have won the game without him. I'm convinced there's a deal more to come. 16Thompson - 7.0 - Brought his typical terrier-like attitude to the game and helped address the imbalance in midfield. He's a talented lad and his time will come sooner, rather than later. 9Collins - 8.0 - 17 goals. 17!! Did I mention he's got 17 goals. WarneWatch Again I think he got it mostly right. Folk, including myself, have highlighted the midfield imbalance, but we were 2-0 up and in cruise control before we fell asleep, so it wasn't that awful. Could we have responded quicker to changes they made? Perhaps, but the changes Warne did make helped swing the tide back in our favour and I think and hope that he is proud of what he's achieving, as after a shaky start, he's turned us into a team that can be very hard to beat.
  12. You know it's a dog's dinner when the cheeriest guy on the match thread is @Jourdan Yous lot need to up your game.
  13. No. Sadly a group on here have had a bit of a blouse rending episode, which has turned into a bit of an embarrassment as the capitulation they described failed to materialise and I am sad to report we now sit 1 point off top.
  14. Burton determined to turn this into a scrap. Ae have to keep our heads and stick to the plan. We're better than this lot, but we need to get the ball down and earn the right to play. Just an aside, but the ref's an absolute throbber.
  15. Great team goal. Super flick by TJJ to Nate who was already on his toes and Barks busting a gut to get and stay nearside of his marker. Love it.
  16. Wouldn't your living room be a warmer and more private place to fiddle with your banana?
