  1. Bad touch from Cashin, Vickers couldn't hold on to a 28 yard effort, and a horrendous clearance from Hourihane. Need to be much better than this.
  2. Good play from Mendez-Laing and Elder. Elder arguably our best player in thr opening 30 minutes
  3. Another foul which went unpunished - on Collins this time
  4. Challenge on Hourihane's ankle wasn't even a foul. Should have been a yellow, possibly red
  5. Set pieces are much better than against Lincoln. Also worth remembering Button is a bit of a flapper at high balls.
  6. Reading effort off the post and kindly bounced out to Vickers... lucky escape
  7. Tight offside against Thompson who was 1 vs 1 with the keeper
  8. Good break. Barkhuizen couldn't find the right ball for Collins. Another cross from Barkhuizen to Collins - this time a bit high
  9. They save their club when Dai decides to sell or puts them into administration. There are a few problems with that... 1. Does Dai care about selling them? Or will he eventually put Reading into admin like he has done woth other clubs in the past? 2. The Club doesn't own their training ground or stadium. 3. The Club is £100m in debt (predominantly to Dai) Even if someone bought them out of admin (probable cost around £15m), Dai would still demand at least £30m for the stadium and training ground. Admin would also make them a L2 club. Reading need a local businessman to step up. No one without an attachment to Reading will buy them in their current state, so their fans pitch invading isn't going to make any difference.
  10. Keilan Robinson played LCB. JThompson Oduroh Bartley KRobinson Moloney Hawkins Fapetu McAndrew Weston Nto Wheeldon
  11. Still playing in the PL2. This is essentially a reserve league
  12. I think the confusion is the 'joint administration' bit. For the benefit of those who don't know what this means, this is when the administrotrs handle multiple (related) administrations together for convenience (efficiency and reduced admin costs). Creditors are all managed collectively but registered seperately, however, each individual company is still treated as its own legal entity.
  13. Gellaw Newco 202 is the company which owns the stadium. This company was bought by Clowes Developments. This shouldn't be mixed up with Gellaw Newco 203 which owned Sevco 5112, which in turn owned The Club, The Academy, etc. Gellaw Newco 203 and Sevco 5112 are both dissolved. Clowes Developments also bought Derby County (The Rams) Limited, which bought the assets of The Club.
  14. Another factor may be a maximum of 3 year contracts under the EFL agreed business plan. That in essence means a 2.5 year contract in January. By structuring the signing the way we have, we have tied Blackett-Taylor down for 3.5 years instead.
  15. We also get about £1.2m per season from the PL for having a Cat 1 academy
  16. It's OK to admit you're wrong. Maguire made a comment which was 100% incorrect. That's what is being debated here.
  17. It's a potential benefit for future investors/buyers though
  18. If signed on a 3 year deal for £300k, £100k would be amortised per year. However, if we paid a £300k loan fee and signed him in the summer, we would take the full £300k hit this season, allowing us to spend more in future seasons.
  19. Exactly... those companies are not 'The Club'. You'll probably find it was all equity. Shareholders are only paid if there is money leftover after paying unsecured creditors and in most cases (including ours) those shares are considered worthless. Going back to Maguire's comment: "the club owed Mel in excess £200m but he claimed nothing". The club didn't owe him money, and he wasn't entitled to any money as there was never going to be any money left after paying all the creditors anyway.
  20. The administrators report showed Sevco (5112) and Gellaw (Newco 203) both owed someone over £100m
  21. This squad got us to 4th best in the league (based on points per game), and we want to be 1st or 2nd best in the league?
  22. The recall is the one benefit to loaning out to NL sides instead of L2 (where it would last until the end of the season). There isn't too much of a drop off in quality either
