I just think Wilder talks poo all the time. Don't dislike the guy but his promotional team (Finkel) are proper twits.

All they, and Frank Warren, have done is use AJ's name to build this fight. Embarrassing.

Agreed, they messed Matchroom around for ages and still continue to. Wilder changes his demands every week. They still haven't sold all the seats for Wilder vs Fury or even announced an undercard.

  2. Had Canelo by 2 rounds on my card. GGG did well to turn the fight but I thought the last round he didn't do enough and missed a lot. You could swing it either way really narrow, to scream robbery is just bias IMO. The amount of excitement whenever GGG threw a punch and they way people bayed for blood whenever Canelo got hit seems to have clouded peoples judgement.

Wilder has played a blinder in all of this. He has made himself relevant going off Joshua’s name where before he was still deemed a nobody.

Wilder brings very little to the table. One belt and about 10% of the PPV buys, therefore he doesn’t deserve anywhere near half the split.

But for Wilder, he can still make a comfortable living without AJ. He’s picking up $3m for easy winnable fights in the US and he isn’t receiving any damage.

If he genuinely doesn’t believe he can beat AJ and the moment he loses to him he loses all leverage and those $3m easy paydays are over, then he’s smart to steer well clear.

What I don’t understand though is why certain belts are forcing AJ to fight mandatorys like Povetkin but Wilder hasn’t been forced to fight Dillian Whyte who has been no.1 in the WBC for ages now.

Whyte isnt #1, they put Breazeale as #1 and that is who Wilder will fight next. It's been signed for 2 months.

Bit disappointing. Could have aimed higher surely? He needs to make quick work of it

He's with Frank Warren, his whole comeback will be a joke and desperate money spinner to try and save Queensberry Promotions. Fury has the audacity to call AJ a bum, it's laughable really.

Never heard of him but apparently he doesn't do 12 round fights? Still doing 8 and 10?

Ah well, at least Tyson is back

Cruiserweight, fought mostly bums with terrible records. Fought Charr once and lost a UD. Guy poses no threat to Fury, even a fat Fury.

  6. Stevenson vs Jack was a great fight, Jack blew it again not starting for a few rounds. Adonis looked old and has lost some of his pop. Sounds like a rematch will be on, Stevenson could be 41 by that time...

  7. Haye KO now he's with Salas and he brought Tavares back. He got what he deserved last time with all the trash talk and training on a yacht. Went in with the injury also. Assuming he has no problems this time and actually boxes with a jab he wins in good fashion. He was up on the cards before the injury last time and he was terrible.

I don't like him, or his entourage, but credit where it's due.

You think he can do the same to Golovkin? I think GGG would just walk through punches to close the ring off. Not sure it's a great fight for BJS styles wise, but he will make a lot of money!

GGG looked aged vs Canelo and he'll be nearly a year older should they fight. 36 yr old GGG vs 28/29 yr old fleet footed BJS would be very interesting. I think BJS finds Canelo an easier fight just because Canelo is fairly static and isn't as good at cutting the ring as GGG. Still waiting for them to confirm the GGG vs Canelo rematch but I think Saunders might get the winner.

They were saying GGG doesn't want to be inactive for long so may go for Saunders as the fight would happen sooner. Either way some more great fights down the line.

  9. Jury's out on this one. See the response before I make a judgement. That said Joshua seems to have been way more fired up in interviews lately. Was Whyte right? Is it all an act? We'll find out.

Got tickets for Kovalev v Shabranskyy in a couple of weeks at MSG.

Is Kovalev still decent or have the losses to Andre Ward done for him?

Gamboa v Sully Barrera on the U/C.

Depends if Kovalev actually lets himself be trained or just does whatever he want's as usual.

Yeah, I don't understand how he failed a drugs test yet is fighting a sanctioned eliminator next month!

Shouldn't have any problems with Hammer.

Loads of Russian money behind him, remember he won a purse bid for the Wlad fight. They put up stupid amounts of cash.

  12. Wilder is in for a payday nothing else. Minimum risk all the way up padding a record with garbage and then cash out. Joshua coming along is a dream come true for him. But anyone who thinks Whyte beats Wilder is mad in my eyes. Chisora gave Whyte war and just got completely outboxed for the European title. Whyte got wobbled by a jab from Helenius and then struggled to a win. Wilder is too athletic and too powerful for Whyte. He's shown zero improvement since Joshua beat him, if anything he's gone backwards. Wilder stops him for me.

Did anyone see Bivol last week? The next Golovkin right there, true power.

  13. Effective aggression is one of the scoring criteria. I guess it is down to the judges to decide whether walking forward and having most of your shots blocked is more effective than jabbing with counter hooks. Be interested to see the punch stats  on this one. I think ultimately if Fury had let that right hand go more he'd have won that, looked a bit gun shy in some rounds. He's still a kid really so it's not the end of the world. If Parker reckons he can step in with Joshua he is in serious trouble.

Bellew vs Parker would be a great fight, one I think Bellew wins through superior ring IQ and counter punching.

  14. Hughie had a debilitating blood disorder which took years to diagnose so I am not sure how he'll look tonight. He's got a tough style for Parker, he beat Rudenko who people say was robbed against Lucas Browne so I think he is slightly underrated. Moves well, quick hands and can take a shot. This is an interesting fight, I watched Parker against Takam and he really got roughed up. His fight vs Cajanu who was his sparring partner fighting on short notice showed that he didn't deal with tall rangey guys too well. My analysis is if this goes to points Fury will win the slow rounds on his jab alone, Parker has to stay busy because if the KO doesn't come then I don't think he'll be as effective jabbing with Fury.

  15. Canelo looks overdone to me, trained like a mad man but could burn out. I'm not sure what his fight plan will be. He's a counter puncher though so the styles should blend well. I'm going for a GGG win by late stoppage after a war where we see GGG really hurt for the first time.

  16. Here's one fight I'm struggling to be excited for, AJ vs Wlad rematch. Joshua said recently he paid him too much respect, as was evident when every time Joshua let his hands go Wlad was hanging on. Think AJ is more aggressive and stops him early second time around. Rather see him in vs Wilder or Parker. Keep collecting those belts.

  17. Davies is a complete bellend. I hope Taylor smashes those stupid beats headphones off his head. Watched Davies a few times now and don't think he is anything special, I've got Taylor winning this.

  18. End of round 6 when Brook went back to his corner and Ingle said "Don't say a word... I don't think it has" I knew that was it. His eye was gone. Brook started to slow and spent more time worrying about the eye. It's a real shame. Brook should move up, he's been making 147 for year and at 31 it must be ridiculously draining making that weight for him now.

He is a hype job done by Eddie Hearn. Doesn't mean he isn't a fantastic fighter though. Fury schooled Klitschko IN GERMANY but Fury was given no-where near as much credit as Joshua is getting because he is too controversial and outspoken. Joshua's only other half decent opponent(Charles Martin) was injured when they fought.

You don't know what hype job means mate, Hearn is just promoting him and taking gambles simple as that. Fury was harshly treated but he does have some pretty major character flaws in terms of mass appeal. The sexism and homophobia can't really be covered up or brushed over at this point.

A hype job is a fighter that has loads of media attention and push but crumbles at the first test, gets beat the first time they step in with quality. Joshua goes against everything that defines a hype job. What you don't like is the hyperbole that surrounds him, but if he continues it was all justified.

Charles Martin wouldn't even be top 5 HWs in the UK so he definitely isn't Joshua's second biggest win. The guy was handed a vacant shot after fighing nobodies in bars then the other guy's knee ligaments disintegrated. He was never a real champion. Hearn saw that he could get an easy world title and thus be able to have more negotiating power. If was a smart piece of management.

Never been to any. But I've had eyes and experienced vision for 46 years and consider myself well versed on what a good view of something is :)

The picture makes it look further away, plus it's scaled down.

    That's a decent view?

I'd get a better view on the radio.

I could see the punches landing and the screens like I was watching TV. Been to many fights? Unless you have a lot of spare cash you ain't sitting anywhere near ringside!
