  1. TJJ making an appearance. It's a big pitch. With plenty of time for him to have a big run and do a hammy......🙄
  2. Was Wilson going to reach that if the defender hadn't fouled him?
  3. If we have some pace on the bench this could be a good game to exploit their high back line.
  4. Was a good stop. Closest to a goal so far I think.
  5. Port Vale playing a high line. Presumably they think we lack the pace up front.
  6. He also thought the challenge which floored NML in their box for some minutes was "definitely not a penalty". That was a decent move leading to hourihane s shot.
  7. We look fairly comfortable at the back. They've had a couple of crosses but nothing much else. We look sort of threatening but haven't created many clear openings. Couple of decent efforts. Otherwise it's all nearly moments.
  8. Sorry, what have you proven with your QED? Ok, both runs were good insofar as they delivered crosses and pull backs that stayed in play and didn't sail over everyone's head. In fact fornahs looked as though he had spotted NML so was additionally intentionally accurate as opposed to being "put into an area". I am content with my description of the subsequent events on both those attacks, as I include the keeper as a defender and thought the second looked an eminently saveable shot that he made a bad error in trying to kick it away. I agree with Shaun Barker that all the defender could do on the first goal was swing a leg. However he swung the wrong one. A 50:50 chance. I haven't said anywhere that we didn't deserve the win. Can't from what little of the game I saw. However, I stand by that both our goals had an element of fortune. You choosing to disagree is your right but doesn't prove anything.
  9. Reckon there's a secret bro-mance between the pair of you. Never a week goes by without you uttering the c-word....😉
  10. The first one the defender was not under extreme pressure, if he swings his left foot at the ball it's cleared towards the halfway. He inexplicably turned it directly in with his right. No attacker breathing down his neck, he was stood alone. Second one I couldn't tell why the keeper seemed to stick a leg out to stop it and failed. Defenders couldn't do much tbf. I did say that our goals were "aided by" as opposed to "solely caused by" the defending. Mendez had a decent run for the first but he was put through by a big hoof that the defender jumped underneath and missed.
  11. Don't know about the pen, but both our goals were helped by woeful defending. Another day, we score zip from those chances.
  12. That's the key mate..... people will come and go, but we all hope the club will endure. Warne will be a footnote soon enough. What sort of footnote depends on what he does or achieves.
  13. Absolutely. But you're carving out a place all your own and deservedly so. Maybe Claire B5?
  14. More like #bemore4shorttermvolatilestats.....
  15. Yeah...but I posted in the football forum whereas moisty posted in the Jim Smith room. Do you spend your time checking in the local that nobody's talking about something in the lounge that's also being talked about in the bar...? 😉
  16. So we're managed 2 more points than Pompey over 7 games and we have 29 to play, so at that rate we should gather a little over 8more points than them....
  17. Died at the age of 80 after a long illness. Got England playing attractive football after the Graham Taylor debacle. Shame his dodgy business dealings brought his England managerial career to a premature end. Remember him being booked in front of the ley stand in the 1970s and giving a cheeky grin and wiggle of the eyebrows.... RIP sir.
  18. Oooh look forward to England enjoying 30% possession against Montenegro and hoping for a fast breakaway goal..... It's what he knows....
  19. It's all been said about Warne I think. So maybe many have just decided to support the team. It doesn't look like much will change unless either... - we have an unusually busy (and successful) January - the older players "gas out" ( haven't heard that used for a while) and results slump from Feb again. I've only seen the goals from yesterday but will watch highlights. Thank heavens for NML. The folks were very bored
  20. It's not an either/or. Only results will get us out of this division. But having a good and consistent style should be what lays the foundations for staying out. I would also argue a good style should make the results more consistently achievable.
