Pickford got his mini arms to the pen, but looked like he went with his leg for the rebound.....

I don't know the answer, as the other narrative weaving it's way through this is that we could find ourselves clearing out 14 or so first team squad members next season. Hence we have another season with who knows what experience to fall back on. Oh, and Paul Warnes reputation as a "promotion specialist" diminishes to some extent.

Lose the next game and our 1.5 ppg average is maintained. That's 69 points over a full season and unlikely to see us threatening the playoff places.

I thought the complaint was that we didn't experiment and still got knocked out, with more or less the first team. And at least one poster mentioned a player (hourihane) who appeared to be giving less than 100%.

I'd like to think we'd reciprocate if there was a forest version of B4. Lives ended too soon.

And yet, if we flop in the playoffs and end up back in this godforsaken division next season is that progress?

We don't of course know. Personally, were I the efl I would have signed off a plan that no more than x% of revenue after fixed costs would be available for additional players. That recognizes the foolishness of trying to "plan" by fixing highly uncertain numbers in absolute terms. But you're right that it's all speculation.

Paul Warne might, however, discover that his January kitty is not as big as it could be or that he wanted.
