I'm not sure if any of you guys ever liked the Derby band 'Cable' or not, I'm trying to start a bit of a campaign to get them to reform.

Please like this page and share with anyone who you think might be interested...

Cable were a [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom]British [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_%28music%29]alternative [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music]rock [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_ensemble]band, formed in the early 1990s by Matt Bagguley (guitar, vocals), Darius Hinks (guitar), Suzy Ward (bass) and Martin Syvret (drums). Ward was soon replaced by Pete Darrington, and Syvret by [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Cooper]Neil Cooper, formerly of [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beyond_%28band%29]The Beyond (drums). Cooper left in 1995 to form Gorilla with other ex-members of The Beyond, and was replaced by Richie Mills. Influenced by [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixies]Pixies and [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Albini]Steve Albini, they recorded their first session for the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Radio_1]BBC Radio 1's [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Peel]John Peel Show in October 1994.

Cable were awesome! Most of my friends saw them live but I missed them and I'm pretty jealous about that.

One of them could play one of their songs (I forget which) beat-perfect of one of those Tesco £9.99 plastic drum kits. It was a sight to behold!

Saw them at the old Garrick which is now the Mile I think, back in 1995 (I think). They were poor that day.

Not long after, they came out with Freeze the Atlantic which was quality still listen to that track today. They had some other good stuff on When Animals Attack.

Deffo one of Derby's better bands, although there's not much competition.
