Hucknall Ram
Brown departs with Preston 10th in the League One table Preston have parted company with manager Phil Brown after less than a year in charge at Deepdale. The former Hull boss was appointed in January but was unable to save them from relegation from the Championship. They currently lie 10th in the League One table, only five points short of the play-off places. Assistant boss Brian Horton has also left the club, and Graham Alexander and David Unsworth have been put in temporary charge. Brown's departure came just eight days after Peter Ridsdale, formerly with Leeds, Barnsley, Cardiff and Plymouth, joined Preston as chairman. Explaning the decision, a club statement said: "Following relegation we had hoped that we would be in aposition to compete for an immediate return to the Championship but after a promising start we have only won one of our last 11 league games and we are out of all three cup competitions." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16178900.stm?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

Brown 247 78 70 99 N/C 145 45 32 68 Thats not a fair reflection though because that is brown's whole career compared with cloughs time at derby. Leeds Ram
in fairness Brown has only had one good season with hull, first season with derby he almost took us down, first season with hull promotion, second season started well and collapsed, third season he took them down. Took over preston, got relegated, and now 10th in league 1.

RotherhamRam
Better record than N/C, and thats including the Premier League. Brown 247 78 70 99 N/C 145 45 32 68 Actually the win percentage for Brown is 31.5% in his managerial career. Clough counting his time at Burton and Derby his managerial career as with Brown (more games as well) Burton 709 games wins 310 Derby County 145 games wins 45 Total games for Clough as manager is 853 total wins of 355 percentage of 41.6% Another interesting fact for Brwonis that he has experienced nearly taking Derby down, Hull collapsing and a relegation with Preston and only one promotion. He has been sacked 3 times from us Hull and now Preston. Also Hull in financial danger after his time in charge (not saying all his fault) Compared with Clough one promotion, one real relegation battle last yr other years safe with a month to go and no real threat of relegation. 1 promotion with Burton left when another was pretty much guaranteed into the football league and one safe financial club in Burton. A much higher win percentage within his career never been sacked. Its amazing what you can do with stats. Also Smithy you later say the stats you presented prove more favourable for Brown the stats shown are Brown win % of 31.5% and for Clough 31% a whopping 0.5% better over 102 more games for Brown not brilliat.
