admira
Announcement later today on London games. This would be a shame as so far the vast majority of the activity by the ferral rats has been during the late evening. Oh and I have a ticket for Watford Maybe a few thousand football thugs on the streets is exactly what it needs to scare off the hoodies anyway? CornwallRam
We could probably do with a couple of weeks without matches to let some of the injuries settle down. admira
Thinking about it, it may be less to do with possible riots and more to do with not having the resources to police football matches when the boys in blue are working all night as it is. Hucknall Ram
Still may effect us Ghana versus Nigeria friendly in Watford called off Tuesday's friendly international between Ghana and Nigeria has been called-off following several nights of violence in London. Authorities in Watford, where the game had been due to take place, said they were unable to police the match. Officers from other parts of the UK have been drafted in to help London's Metropolitan Police. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) said it had been informed of the decision on Tuesday afternoon. "Due to concerns regarding policing, the organisers of the game have advised that the fixture cannot be hosted," the GFA said on its website. Watford FC, who's Vicarage Road ground had been due to host the game, said more details about refunds for ticket-holders would be published shortly. Nigeria coach Samson Siasia said he was disappointed the game had been called off but said the decision was understandable. "We were looking forward to playing this game, and the players were also very prepared and confident despite the fact that we didn't have a full house and had just one training session," the coach said. "But there is nothing anybody can do. The police have the final authority and if they say they cannot guarantee our security, then we have to take that." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14465389.stm Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7202-all-weekend-games-could-be-called-off/#findComment-194259 Share on other sites

David
Might be good news if it's called off, gives Shackell more time to get fit and Watford haven't played midweek so will be fresher.
