I'll always remember the time you were in the 'big boy' league 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

But I suppose you did go up too quickly with Billy

I'll always remember the time we put 5 past you 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

But I guess that was just a fluke

I'll always remember when you had 10 men 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

You went up much slower under Billy. I've been very impressed with the 2 years you just managed to avoid it. You did go up though didn't you?

Yes, you put 5 past us. We put 2 past you. That should ease the pain of Derby dominance over the recent years.

Ah, a very fun September afternoon. Thank you. We did the double and you finished below us again.

Much good any of it has done either side

Completely new defence, you can't expect them to gel straight away.

No maybe not even this season

But we are in a better position than we were.

If we can keep away from the bottom for the first part of the season & then have a go as the side starts to gel.

If the strikers perform then anthing is possible. However Forest always seem to start slow.

What happens if they have a terrible start, perform really badly and fail to gel as a result?

Hahahaha derby county a more ambitious club - priceless... Ambition isn't being content with mediocrity every season like your owners are!

Love this comment, seeing as most of the forest fans on here are talking about being happy with your 'sensible signings', and 'steady sean', and will be pleased with an 'uneventful mid table season, with perhaps a late push for the play offs.'

Also, when you keep going on about 5-2, the important fact I take from that game is that we were at the lowest point of our lowest ebb in recent times, you were riding high and on your way to yet another playoff failure... And we still scored 2 past you. At that point in our history we couldn't score 2 goals in a game of you played without a keeper, so how **** must you be.

And you couldn't even put 2 past Fleetwood.

There's a short term ambition and long term ambition. All signs point towards we're the latter. We had a nightmare of a season and we were lucky not to go down, so yeah, sensible signings and a midtable finish is fine for me, and it can help form a foundation for further ambitions for the 13-14 season.

SO'D's had a month to form a completely new defense, I'm happy we got a clean sheet against them in such a short amount of time.

See after a nightmare season your expectations suddenly become that much more realistic, and that much less ambitious. Our premiership season was a nightmare season of epic (almost sod epic) proportions, and it's come with similarly epic hangover. We did well not to get a double relation after that (thanks billy). Your last season was pretty small fry compared to that.

I wonder where you'll stand after a couple of seasons of mediocrity. Will you be happy with what you've got, considering it was almost a lot worse. Or will you still be dreaming of winning that european cup one not time? Only time will tell, cos I'll tell you now, mediocrity is the best you can hope for for the next few seasons, not just this coming season.
