I'm poor.

I probably make less money than what you can earn on job seekers allowance..

I don't have a car.. I don't even have a pushbike.

The majority of my clothes are given to me by friends.

I didn't go to uni.. I probably wouldn't get into uni though average college grades.

I've never even been to France.

I haven't seen my family for nearly 2 years.

I'm a supporter of a football club that in my lifetime has never lifted a single trophy, not even a poxy league cup.

However.

My life is brilliant.. I spend my days hanging out with my friends, who are all brilliant, spending time with my girlfriend who would win Miss UK if she was from The UK, playing football for my team twice a week, hanging out by the beach and enjoying 30 degree+ weather 365 days of the year.

Plan B.. Money doesn't buy you a good life, having amazing cars/houses etc. Doesn't termine what's a good life and what isn't.. Uni isn't the be all and end all..

The people in your life and the way you spend your free time determines a good life..

I wouldn't swap my life for anyone on this planet. It's brilliant.

"As we all know money makes the way go round and unfortunately I don't have the money I need. I'd like to study in North America but the fees are so incredibly large, around 30k a year. There's pretty much no way I could ever save that up in the next few years so I'm looking at either loans or bursaries. Problem is being 18, getting a loan that large is going to be almost impossible, anyone got any advice?"

Well well, guess who wrote this?

HAHA! kin ell!

How depressing that was for me. Materialism in the U.K is all consuming now. Found myself agreeing with all of it. More to life than money. Today is probably the best day of the year thusfar and I've been working on my laptop with the blinds down all day, not even been outside. How'd you manage to get over to Mexico Bris if you don't mind me asking.

I saved up money, I didn't have an Xbox, Playstation, Big TV, A car etc.. Ie. Luxury goods.. I rarely drank, thus saving me at least $100 at the weekends.. Everything I did in England was cheap, and I easily had as much fun hanging out with my friends than anyone who spent $300 at a weekend.

I moved to Canada, did the same, worked for an office installation company on a years visa.. Saved up near $10k..

Travelled down through the States and into Mexico, fell in Love with the country, decided to stay and went to School and did a training course in teachng English.. And I'm still here, surrounded by everything that makes my life so great.

Plan B.. Seriously, money allows you to have holidays, a nice car, a nice house etc.. But it doesn't buy you friends, an amazing girlfriend and 'on the edge' sort of lifestyle.

If I won the lottery, ask me what I'd do with the money.. Nothing. There's nothing I could possibly buy at this moment in time that will make my life that much better.
