Day Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Just watching Sky News now, thoughts have to go out to Japan and also other countries that will be hit over the next few hours. Haven't we got a couple of members over there on here?
WorksopRam Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Awful news, so much bad stuff happening around the world these days.
trigger Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 shocking! weve been told that we are pretty safe out here, but certain places in the pacific are expecting the worse lets hope the casualities are kept to a minimum!
Boycie Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Don't we have a member in Japan? Hope they are all right.
Boycie Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Been watching the bbc, hope they arn't near the coast. Supposed to be hitting Hawaii, any time now.
froggg Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Really looks grim, it said on the news that they have 4.5 metre tsunami walls in the coastal areas, but looking at the pictures on yahoo they haven't done much good.
trigger Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 even new zealand has issued a warning, what the feck is going on in this world?
Cisse Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 One can only hope that they don`t get any really big aftershocks. There are bound to be some for a quite a while but hopefully the worst is behind now. Sympathies go for people in areas affected.
Day Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Just came into the living room, sure I heard that Hawaii has just had a smaller earthquake, only caught the end of it
Boycie Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Well, there is the theory that the world is going to end in 2012. Makes you think don't it?
trigger Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 yeah i think were going to be quite lucky, its due to hit n z at about 0600am ,lets hope its only minor!
Boycie Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Not heard that? only heard that they are evacuating?
froggg Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Anyone remember the tremor in derby in the early eighties? I was working a nightshift at Kingsway hosp at the time, I was on with an Irish catholic support worker, when it struck he dropped to his knees giving it the hail mary jesus bless us and save us malarkey, never forget it
dcfcdavecov Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Now being Tweeted it was 4.6 by some people.....could be precursor to a bigger one.....or could be scare mongering.
Boycie Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 We had a small one about 4-5years ago in Belper, centered in Brum. When I say small, tiny. A couple of shakes, that's all.
Day Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Had one up here couple years ago in the middle of the night, it's not unusual for the earth to move in my house at night but this was whilst we were asleep. Just shook the bed abit and heard the glasses rattling on the shelf downstairs, had a quick look round and went to bed.
