davenportram
Wayne Rooney should have been sent off for a blatant elbow. The ref gave a free kick, but no card. Think Rooney will get away with it with the referee having seen the incident. I hope the ref in his report says he saw a collision, not sure if it was a elbow or not and the video panel ban Rooney for a couple of games. WorksopRam
Aye, his was slightly more justified. Only slightly. Blackpool were dire.
G STAR RAM
'Sir' Alex Ferguson defending him as usual saying it was nothing and will be blown out of all proportion. How can someone who has defended every piece of thuggery by his team in the last 25 years be knighted? Pretty much all of the hassle that the referees get these days is down to the fact that him and his players have surrounded the ref at every chance they have been given and have continually been allowed to get away with it. There will never be such think as respect in the game while managers like him refuse to admit when his team are in the wrong.
Dangerous
rooney will not face any action.what a suprise there then.I would like to bet it would be a different story if Joey Barton had done it to a utd player.I hate rooney,he is just a think yob who is massively overrated. JohnClement
I just get sick of this Man Utd get a deal from the referee in virtually every single game. I honestly dont believe that a single trophy they have won in Fergusons entire career has been honestly won. The other 91 clubs should annul their trophies and league positions from their programmes and award the trophies to those who would have won them. uttoxram75
It was hardly an elbow. More a forearm smash up the kisser. Straight red for violent conduct. Either the ref did'nt see it, (if so why did he give a free kick?), or he bottled it because it was Rooney and Man united. It was far worse than DJ Campbell's girly shove. Hucknall Ram
Four reasons why a red wasn't shown. 1. It was Wayne Rooney 2. It was Manchester United 3. It was in the 8th min 4. The Wigan player didn't make a meal out of it.

I agree with you about Barton, if it was his flying elbow that was caught on camera he would have definately been up before the beak, but because of who it is, they were never going to charge him....just like when Shearer stamped all over Lennon... But as for Rooney being over rated, I hvae to say i think he is a really really top drawer player, not on the same planet as Lineker, Gascoigne or even the afore mentioned Shearer but still, a real class act.... MuespachRam
he is nowhere near consistent enough and he doesnt score enough goals. I think that 97 goals in 207 appearances says that he does sxore enough goals.

He is not fit to lace Messis boots.

David
More to Ronney's game than elbowing and scoring, his work rate for a striker top class and he creates a hell of alot. He's had a poor season but still managed 11 assists (3rd best in Prem).

David
How many of Berbatovs goals has Rooney been heavily involved with? It's not all about the goals, like I say he has far more to his game than that.
