Formula One World Championship 2011

When Senna did these things everyone loved him. They all rave about Button and his clean driving but when Button passes people he is always in a faster car with better tyres. If all the cars were even Hamilton would win every race.

The difference between the two is that Senna was most often successful in his overtake attempts. Not only that but he came with a reputation where if he didn't get through the first time, he'd make sure he did the second.

It's a different grid now. Hamilton is coming up against drivers who don't want to move and won't bow to reputations (see Schumacher).

But for me, he's got plenty of time to win more titles. McLaren need to build a good car for 2012 if they are to keep him.

Senna won his first World Championship at 28, going on to win three in total before his tragic death at just 34. He would have gone on to win at least one or two more. Hamilton has plenty of time and a World Championship to his name at 26.

Hamilton is succesful in the majority of his overtake attempts, just the odd one that gets highlighted and ends up costing him. Many times we saw Senna wipe other cars out going for gaps that didn't exist.

One season everyone complains about the lack of competitive racing and then the next you are crucified for being competitive. I think Hamilton will win world titles again but Mclaren need to sort their act out, the car was 4 months behind Red Bull's. Championship is done as far as i am concerned barring exceptional circumstances.

All the new rules for more exciting racing and it is more one sided than last season! One thing that does make me wonder, if the incidents Lewis was in on the weekend had been the other way round what would the reaction be? Can't help but think if it had been Lewis wiping Kobayashi out from behind he would have a penalty for next race with the media going crazy. Stating how Kobayashi was obviously ahead going in to the corner blah blah.

If i see Vettel stick his stupid finger up again i might smash my TV in

Button outperfoming Hamilton yet again, although after his restart from the Safety Car period where he was caught napping, Hamilton did well - good clean driving behind Schumacher.

Great defence also from Schumacher under immense pressure for about 20 laps by the two McLarens, shame it pretty much let Vettel run away with it.

I don't understand the hate loads of people have for Vettel, seems like a decent chap and has shown recently that he can go wheel to wheel with the more hyped Alonso's and Hamilton's - great pass around the outside of Curva Grande today.

Good race, that didn't let DRS totally ruin the day as it has done on a few occasions this season.

Only good part of the race was that crash on the first lap :p so Vettel has more or less won the Championship. Soon to be the new boring Schumacher era.......

This has been the most exciting season I can remember, in terms of on-track racing, which is surely what it's all about?

I'm not saying the racing is rubbish, which it isn't because the last 2 seasons have been entertaining. I'm saying its gonna be predictable who's actually gonna win the race (Vettel). But apart from him being too good its been a good season :D

Personally mate, I don't tune in to see who finishes in the lower points positions. P7-P12 seem to be the only places where there is any actual racing. In terms of the Championship, it's been dire.

Taking nothing away from Vettel. A superb driver and a fantastic World Champion, but I can't help but feel it's a lot like the old "Schumi & Ferrari" approach to racing. A superb car built to his driving style. Put him in a Mac or Ferrari and we'd see a much closer Championship

Most races have been fantastic from 2nd downwards.

Until this season, motor racing did not get more dull than Formula One. Last season was beyond dire, bar a few wet races. Yeah, we never knew who was going to win - but I've seen 1-0 football matches when I didn't know who was going to win, but they were still boring.

I've lost count the amount of times world champions have literally banged wheels on track this season. The past few years I've often chosen over championships and series' to watch instead of F1, and this year it's grabbed my attention.

When I watch F1, I want to see good racing, and for me that means more than finding out after an hour and a half who had the cleverest bunch of nerds behind a pit wall who found a strategy which involved no overtaking on-track.

It's different to 2004 and 2001 - in those seasons, there was literally no point in watching, there was no interest anywhere in the field.

But it's all opinions and tastes I guess. I watched a fabulous race at Silverstone today with the Le Mans Series and that beats F1 any day of the week, so I can't complain. But I will anyway.

Good defensive driving by Schuy my ar se.

Hamilton makes a double move, and gets a twenty second penalty, Schuy gets nothing.

For the entire time Hamilton was behind him, Schumacher made only one move to defend and then one to take the racing line, which as the lead car he is perfectly entitled to do. He also gave him plenty of room when Hamilton got alongside him for the most part. I will say his chop on Hamilton which resulted in Hamilton going on the grass was dangerous and unnecessary, but other than that incident, he drove perfectly in my opinion.

India next. F1 doesn't have a conscience, we all know that, but if it did then it wouldn't be racing there. Loads of peasants who lived on the land where the track was built were told to move on, but were promises land - it looks like only a handful of them actually received anything.

The pre-race interviews made me laugh today. Red Bull saying they weren't focusing on Vettol becoming Champ. Yeah right, of course not. Why ever would they do that? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Still, Vettol is top class, but it's a shame Jenson was held up near the end. Perhaps he should have put the pressure on a bit sooner. Great racing from the McClaren No.1.
