As poor as we were in the first half, we were good in the second half against Brentford.

Yes, credit Rooney for changing formation, players and his half time rollicking.

BUT......

Why didn't he get it right in the first half?

How many posters have been clambering for a starting place for Bird and Watson for a start, me included for the first. He put a team out that didn't perform to the way he wanted, couldn't pass or tackle, there is not a lot he can do about that, doesn't matter what formation or tactics you deploy.

Our confidence was rock bottom, the goal came at the right time, what the players now have to do is take this self belief into the next game, not just perform 45 minutes every so often.

I think the change of formation and increased motivation had more to do with the change of performance than anything.

He's the manager, why didn't he get the formation right from the start?

Heck he changes it often enough. He changes the team often enough.

Isn't it time we settled on something?

Gratuitous pictures of the great man are acceptable. Unfounded claims that he delivered an inspirational team talk are not.

I feel like you are joining me on the dark side.

It was getting lonely over here, I’m glad of the company.
