There was a guest on who is a Derby fan, who worked out in the middle east with the BBC as a journalist etc. He said the takeover is a positive thing, that Shiekh Khaled will mean business. Although it wont be on a level of Man City there will still be money there. He said Khaled, as much as he is only a 2nd cousin of Mounsir, he is still royalty and married into the Dubai royal family. He says the money will have come from 1 of 2 sources, either rich businesses or backed by Dubai. If it is businesses expect us to follow Sheff United, if Dubai backed, maybe more closer to Man City, but FFP still dictates spending. He did say though that any sort of business transaction like this must get the green light from the overall UAE, they see it as having a reputation to uphold in the business world, so in a sense, Khaled wont be a joker. Very interesting listen, just hope he is accurate with what he says.
SamUltraRam
It's a good listen. The journalist comes on at 32 minutes. He gives a perspective from someone who understands the Arabic culture which is better than listening to the cheap journalism coming from our press Liked the fact he says there are Derby fans out there who meet up to watch our games !! Andrew3000
Interesting that, so much more positive than we've been hearing. Quite reassuring but he should have been pressed on the comments from Newcastle and Liverpool folk claiming they were amateurish etc.
