One of the other suggestions was U21 players don't need to be registered. As things stand (and given some players leave as expected), that would give us a very small registered squad, and I'm almost certain we'd be within the £18m budget already:

  • Roos
  • Ravas
  • Wisdom
  • te Wierik
  • Davies
  • Evans
  • Wassall
  • Forsyth
  • Lowe
  • Rooney
  • Bielik
  • Holmes
  • Shinnie
  • Lawrence
  • Shonibare
  • Waghorn
  • Marriott
  • Martin

Martin is no longer under contract is he?

I thought he was until the end of the month. Whether you include him or not in the list, I believe we still have a squad which falls inside the £18m budget

Yes easily, I hope he stays around also

What needs to happen is a more even deal between PL and the Championship so parachute payments give less of an unfair advantage.

If TV (and parachute) money was split evenly between every club in the EFL and PL, it would give every club £25m more cash per year. Even teams in the 3rd year of parachute payments would get an extra £10m. Obviously PL clubs would be up to £100m worse off, and other parachute teams up to £20m worse off, but imagine the difference that would make to lower league teams ?
