Cool As Custard
Might sound a bit too soon for some but in all honesty whilst it would have been great to win today & go up there are still lots of real positives still to take from this season Frank & Jody are at the wheel & know what they are doing, have established a positive way of playing, can play 2 or 3 different tactical ways, are prepared to give youth a chance & even if they go to Chelsea we are looking at least £5m in compensation & have shown us what qualities we need in a new manager. Whilst we lose Mount, Wilson & Tomori we’ve shown other other clubs that we are a great place to send their most talented youngsters on loan & we will have pick of best Liverpool, Man City & Chelsea young players We lose loads of highly paid non contributing dead wood off the wage bill - Butterfield, Blackman, Bryson, Johnson, Olsson, Nugent, Pearce, Roos , Cole & Ambrose - it will save c£200k a week (£10m per annum) off the wage bill & would anyone say we will miss any of them? Some long terms injuries coming back like Davies & Forsyth ss well as an opportunity to bring in 3-4 new players with qualities needed to fit into Franks way of playing & blood at least 2-3 new players from the high performing U18’s & U23’s into the first team squad. All of that plus the teams coming down/going up are no great shakes (Cardiff/Fulham/Huddersfield/Luton/Barnsley/Charlton) & the other strong contenders remaining in the Championship are in in disarray with uncertainty over their managers (Leeds, Middlesbrough, WBA). With Mel’s masterstroke of selling/leasing back Pride Park giving us FFP stability providing we keep Frank then the future looks really bright for next year & I have high confidence of another promotion run/top six finsh next season. Hope that gives everyone else some reasons for a bit of a lift on an otherwise disappointing evening - remember COYR!!
Pearl Ram
But, but Steve Gibson’s gonna sue the pants off us and we’re gonna be left skint, Frank’s off to Chelsea, Huddlestone’s got another year, we’re going to hell in a handcart, we’re doomed I tell you, doomed. ? Ramarena
Personally I wouldn’t consider Roos and Johnson non contributing deadwood!

1967Ram
Would anyone say we will miss any of them? Butterfield - No not now, but a good player if uitilised correctly IMO Blackman - No Bryson - Yes Johnson - Definitely Olsson - No Nugent - No Pearce - Already left. A Millwall player. Roos - Definitely Cole - Yes Ambrose - Not seen him yet so can't comment.
