This time last year

I've just checked the league table after 27 games last year for comparison purposes.

Brighton (eventual runners-up) were top with 60 points.

Newcastle (eventual champions) were 2nd with 58 points.

3rd and 4th were Reading and Huddersfield (Play off finalists) both with 49 points.

5th Leeds (48), 6th Sheffield Wednesday (45).

Rams were 7th with 43.

This season the top 7 is made up of Wolves 62, Rams 52, Cardiff 50, Villa 47, Bristol C 47, Sheffield U 43 and Leeds 43.

So last season there were two runaway leaders at this stage but only one this season.

Not surprising that we are 9 points better off, as we had a really poor start under blockhead last season.

its looking good, but a long way to go.

just hope rigor mortis doesn't set in, or the lads start losing their teeth and become incontinent

I don’t think Mel will be rushing to the dressing room any time soon!

Why can we never be that run away team at the top. :(

Only joking. These tense affairs are what football is all about. Hold onto your hats mother truckers!

We were under Billy? Sure we were like 9 points clear at one point.

Think we were 5 clear under Steve too.

Can soon turn around.

To be fair, if you look at the start we made this season. It wasn't great which makes our current position all the more impressive.

We now need to maintain that consistency
