We’ve had some great Scottish players since we were formed, but I would be surprised if many or indeed any, were better than Mackay even though he was in the twilight of his career.

You,ll have to go some to beat Don Masson in the old days, poetry in motion he was, pure genius...........dont think i took my meds today tho.

Go and have a lie down.

To be fair to Masson, though, he was a decent player who never stood a chance at Derby. His biggest fault was that he came in after the championship win when we were in decline (see also Derek Hales and God knows how many others). He just wasn't Archie.

Bruce Rioch for me. Though to be fair, he is about as Scottish as Rod Stewart.

more scottish than chris martin then.

Don't know about Rod Stewart but our Chrissy is half-Scottish and half-English and very proud to have played for Scotland.

Bruce Rioch was excellent the first time around, but he wasn't as good when he came back from Everton.

He also had a big falling out with Tommy Docherty, who was probably the worst thing that ever happened to DCFC in my lifetime.
