Just think, they played in rigger boots on pitches thick with mud. They drank, smoked, had other jobs and went to war. I think they were the best there's ever been and always will be. But he wasn't half as consistant as what people make out. Nothing in terms of the consistancy shown by Messi and Ronaldo. Zidane was part of the most expensively formed side in the world at the time and yet only won one La Liga trophy and one CL trophy. He never won the Copa Del Rey and only ever won the Ballon d'Or once. For a creative midfielder, his numbers aren't a patch on someone like Angel Di Maria while at Real Madrid.
