Anon Posted August 22, 2014 Share Posted August 22, 2014 PES 5 is still my go to football game. It is truly amazing how bad the series has become since that high point. How did they screw up so royally? All they had to do was update the graphics each year and tweak a few bits and pieces. The "skill stick" is an abomination obviously designed by someone with double jointed thumbs. The creator mode is trash. I have less editing options now than I had 10 years ago. The AI is also worse than 10 years ago. Each movement has to painstakingly planned in pre match tactics, otherwise your teammates stand around like bell-ends and flat out refuse to create space or run beyond their defender. For some reason they thought it would be a great idea to make it difficult to get players to run in straight line. What was the ideal mix between arcade and simulation football that could accommodate numerous different play styles has become a tedious and frustrating experience.
