It consolidates Derby County very much as a community club, and basically stops any unscrupulous carpetbagger from buying the club in order to liquidate it and flog off the iPro and Moor Farm to Tescos etc. Ever.

No Coventry City SISU problems here.

Not quite. It just gives the Rams Trust a period of time to get the funds together to buy it before it's offered on the open market. Also I believe the vendor isn't required to accept the bid.

Think we discussed this some time ago. It won't stop asset strippers in the future but it does make it more difficult for them to do it on the sly.

Its the transparency and publicity that would prove troublesome to them and give locals a chance to retain an asset. Thats all or any DCFC fans, not just Rams Trust.

and yet we were one of the clubs they were looking into buying, how it all could be so horribly different right now

One of the reasons they were unable to wheedle themselves in was because of an awful lot of behind-the-scenes digging, campaigning and pressurising by they who shall not be named and others (note: this is not to be confused with the various campaigns by various other organisations as well as they who shall not be named to rid the club of the Amigos - this was a separate but related issue).

They were difficult days and it dismays me that there is still friction and a chasm between various Derby fans when the name of they who shall not be named enters the conversation.
