BondJovi
Bond, I'm not trying to be narky. I'm just writing what I see, the same as everyone else. How many minutes has Kieron played under Stevie Mac? How much of a chance has he been given to show Stevie what he can do? I don't know the answer to that. I do know that Wisdom is the better player but he is not our player. From what I have seen Freeman is an average right back for this league, maybe under Steve's guidance and coaching, who knows. I think Jacobs would have been a good player for this league(Both Steve and Nigel saw different), but that is the point, we aren't looking at this league anymore really. mcsilks
To be fair you don't know if anyone lied. Some players loved working for him, some hated it, that's the same with most managers. If you think that doesn't happen your deluded. Can't you get over it, he has gone and won't be back, we have improved since he went so let's enjoy the clubs success as that's the important thing. Get over what exactly? This is a forum. We're debating the fortunes of a man that was not only manager of our club during one of the biggest and most difficult overhauls in it's history but also a man that will always to a certain extent have links with Derby County. I'd prefer just to debate without the labels BJ, honestly. I've been on here long enough now that Nige has gone to show that I've clearly got some feeling for the Rams, certainly for this squad of players. I don't care if people think I'm here just to keep defending Nige after he's gone, I'm actually back to enjoying the football cos I don't have the same feelings of loyalty to Steve McClaren, so if someones call him a duffer for example, I wouldn't leap to his defence cos I don't realy like him. On Freeman, whether he gets 15 minutes here and there, or whether he never steps on the pitch due to Wisdoms form, Freeman should be on the bench week in week out. He proved under Clough that he was a good enough squad player, so why is he not in the squad when we've got no recognised right back. He's been frozen out. Bloody hell, even James Bailey got 10 minutes.

Clearly not been frozen out - Wisdom is by far a better player and has played every single match so far so there hasn't been any opportunity of Freeman to play - simple. RIMBAUD
there's a difference between between being frozen out and wanting out (to play regularly) no sinister plot here imo - andre's better.
Guest
Wonder who it was that brought smith in and started playing him above freeman, maybe he didn't think he was quite ready for this level either.

Frozen out to me suggests not being given a chance to play football at all.
davenportram
Yet when clough sent players out on loan he was freezing them out

I think the Smith loan was one of the things that cost Nige his job. That along with Grant and Forsyth starting the season very shakily. I didn't rate Smith at all, thought he was a massive liability and was delighted when Wisdom came in. Although I'd have preferred to see Brayford back. I'm not saying Freemo is the answer to all of our right back needs now. I'm just saying he should be in the Derby squad when we haven't got another right back in the squad. Boss
What about the time Jeff had to play right back. Was that not an opportunity? Freeman was on loan and playing for Notts County at the time so no it wasn't an opportunity. Your point is flawed.

I'm afraid I'd disagree, defenders unless having a stinker are not often replaced, and we have options to cover positions at the back should be needed. We have an attack minded bench in the main and I feel it would be hard leaving one of them out for someone who plays in a specialist position. Good luck to him though
Guest
Yet when clough sent players out on loan he was freezing them out Does any player still play for us after being sent out on loan by clough ? Genuine question as over 5 years there must be some facts that back the argument one way or other?

Mafiabob
Bananas see what I mean? Ronnie I'm not having a pop. There's plenty of clough threads to be done to death on here. Why on a bloody Keiran Freeman thread. It's sad that it's a free for all on a thread about a player. Not trying to stifle debate honestly. But you go off on one at the slightest mention of anything negative of his name. At least Mc Silks is fairly reasonable. Anyway, we're all Derby aren't we? RamNut
He reminds me of Richard Jackson. Not good enough sadly but an ok squad player Why is someone an ok squad player if they're not good enough? You pay them for doing fck all, and then when they do have to do something they are ****?
