1946 Cup Final. War just finished, must have been epic. Pub shut at 10:30 and no tele though, so maybe just nip back for the match and then home to the 21st century.

Ah to be born in 1949.

Sweet rationing ending as you get to school age.

Hit 13 as the Beatles arrive and change everything

Walk straight into a job at 15

You're 17 and England win tbe world cup. You're old enough fo get pissed to celebrate

You're 19 and it's fhd summer of love. Just fhe right age. But a bigger love is burning. Clough Love.

its 1972 and you're old enough and paid enough to go to away games. Derby win the league.

Three years laters you're 26 derby win again. And you get married.

You dont get to go so much as the team falters and you have young kids.

Your two lads are old enough to take to games as Arthur Cox drives us up the divisions.

A few years later on and as Jim Smith does the same, they are old enough to have a pint with you after the game in the Alex.

By the time King Billy has his rise and fall, you're wise enough to see him for what he is.

You manage to retire with a decent pension before they all get screwed over, thankful that you won't have to work till you're 68 like your lads will.

This time under the second Clough you start to take your Grandkids to the games and they get their first season tickets in 2013. It's a sign you think. You're right.
