observer
I think the fact that we're having this discussion goes to show that we're not ready for the prem, what's the point of going up and then crashing like last time or like palace are doing now? I can think of millions of reasons, there is no harm in going up putting in a decent performance and coming back down with 3 more years to build and give it another shot certainly didnt do west brom any harm! I think the owners have now realised the only way they are going to recoup any money is getting into the prem and growing the club that way, no point being a stagnant club anymore as its not covering the losses
NormantonRam
Ward isn't a Striker, neither is Bryson, yes the team has been scoring but we still need a Striker IMO.
TroyDyer
First port of call is the defence. Most promotions are built on solid defences. I can't think of one member of our defence, including goalkeeper, that I would consider 'solid'.

Bris Vegas
We're still a long way away from promotion The fact that over 2 legs we have next to no chance of toppling any of the top 6 it would suggest we're still far behind.

smiffy
QPR have had it fairly easy so far, they have only played one team in the top half of the table.

Uptherams
Derby County Football Club does not need anymore strikers or attacking players. The only offensive change I would make is replacing Ben Davies with a like for like set piece specialist. It is barmy that people think we need more attacking players. Edit: We have Martin, Sammon and Ball as our three big strikers Then we have Ward, Russell (injured) Mason and Jacobs that can play as strikers or out wide. In midfield with have an attacking midfielder in Hughes, the powerful Hendrick (injured) and I would run 500 miles Bryson. Never mind other additions that are rarely ever used anymore or are injured long term Coutts and Bavies. Or even loan players such as Dawkins. Why would you not try and improve where you can? We would be half the team with one injury to Chris Martin.

Barring Russell's injury we currently have 8 players to fill 3 positions.
YorkshireRam
We need to see how Wisdom settles in first. He could be the 'gel' in the defence that holds everything together and stops us conceding as many poor goals from defensive errors. The only possible improvement at the minute could be a more consistent LB. Forsyth has under-performed so far this season but he is adjusting to a new position. If he is still weak come January, a new LB may be needed.
Nijul_cluff
Top goal scoring teams are never far away for obvious reasons, we are at the moment in line for 100 league goals, that would certainly put us in the top six. We're also in line to concede around 80, that's shocking!

eddie
We still dont have a squad to match the likes of Reading, QPR, Wigan, Forest, Leicester which will probably account for 5 out of the Top 6 places at the end of the season so we're struggling Overall, you are right - but as far as the midfield and forwards are concerned, I think that we have as good as any. What we haven't got is the squad depth (and the defence, of course).
Rich3478
Harsh on Granty. Not really, been distinctly underwhelmed by grant. Can think of at least five or six goals I'd have him at fault for this season. No improvement on ledgkins currently. Hoping he finds his feet as such and becomes a rock for us. If our defence finds some form and stops letting in soft goals I think we'll comfortably be too six by January!

Shaky defence hasn't helped, granted, but he could have helped with a more commanding performance and relieving some pressure from crosses.
