I only put Liverpool in the top 6 because the rest of the league is just so average....the top 4 will be the top four as normal, Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal....because they are so much better than the rest....then every other team is capable of finishing anywhere from 5th to bottom... Arsenal look like they are going to sign Liverpools best player, therefore making Liverpool weaker and Arsenal stronger, no? It’s not being a ‘jobsworth’ here, we have to further prepare all 600+ entries over the weekend and if we accept weekend entries we’d never finish! So very sorry, none to be counted on Saturday, it’s been up nearly a month now! Latest figues as of Wednesday 14th August - 621 guesses / from 38 forums (with 37 of these included in the forum average game too. Just a word; what I’ve been doing in some previous posts is only numbering the individual entries. Doesn't mean anything it itself, except that of course the more entries the more chance statistically the best individuals from your forum will be well positioned overall, but anything can happen. And in the separate forum competition part it is not vital having lots at all. It's simply a minimum of 5 needed to get a forum average, but once there reached it's an averaged out forum guess from all predictions on a particular site so ... you're on equal footing whether it's 6 participants or 50 from a forum - all to play for. However, with lots of guesses in an ‘idiot’ selection does get minimalized! But you never know what’s in store; if someone has - for example – Palace down for 10th and they did in fact finish 10th, then that person would be 8-10 points better on that guess compared to nearly everyone else - who (really sorry Palace fans on this occasion!) have decided Palace are a choice down for relegation. So points are awarded, then added up, on EVERY team and how far out you are, both for the individual awards and the team forums - that’s why your best thought-out order is what we're after! Lots of points are BAD; means you’re way out with positions. Ah, but which teams might throw a surprise then, either better or far worse than most expect? I simply dunno … ah, well that's the real beauty of football, and what makes this game fun!! What IS IMPORTANT to know is that after this weekend’s premier league fixtures the first REAL fan points come onto the table and the first national order produced. Have fun – should be up middle of next week. What do I win, you’ll say?! Short answer is FAME across the land on over 40 forums ... end of season awards are: 1st placing/s - Honorary Gold Medal 2nd/s - Honorary Silver Medal 3rd/s - Honorary Bronze Medal 4th/s - Diploma of Honour I 5th/s - Diploma of Honour II As farfetched as it may seem, some of the winners last season of our games have incorporated the names of the Medals/Diplomas onto their signature this season, and even done special fan feature interviews !! Very early days, don't worry anyone, it's hardly worth writing home on, after just one or even ten games ... just one thing – about the forum ‘average’ entry, we’ve had a couple of posts about this: when I started this, I found that they don't use normal adding up and averaging by divide system at Sunderland – and by the way, the admin man of Black Cat Chat should get the plaudits for the maths not me, he’s a computer programming man by profession, I just enjoy the ‘outreach work’! What they do is make a single average forum selection from the guesses received as if it were an entry itself, then mark it against other forum "entries" in the same way. Supposed to be pretty fool proof in the way they calculate it, even gives a BETTER idea of membership intentions, but you ALL play together and so you all should know it's not at all just a question of 3+4+5=12 divided by 3 = 4 ... But I’ll try to get put up on here your members ‘average’ league table positions over the next few days so you know exactly what your collective final choice was!
