Jesus, Hasbeens r' us or what?!

You have Billy Sharp continuing to get a mention; when was his last prolific season? 2010/11

Jerome Thomas - soley because He was recently released by a premiership club, so is surely bound to be good right?

Martyn Waghorn - because he played well against us, the rest of the season he's been injured...

Ebanks-Blake - scored just over a dozen last season,  prior to that went missing for five years.

Cameron Stewart - Didn't impress on loan at both Blackburn and Burnley, scored one goal in his entire career...

Connor Wickham - What's  he done in the past three years to be mentioned here, I'll never know.

Delaps left Stoke, RM solved,

True story, Carlisle received their last payment from Derby for Delap in 2009, 11 years after his transfer!

Nice guy, served us well but don't think he is good enough anyone, will probably move to SPL, L1 or L2.

Wow - you're going to be incredibly disappointed with whoever we sign.

Cracking player. Remember reading about villa regretting letting him go. Something in common with Ward. Looked good against a strong Chelsea side in the cup. He would provide much width loves to go past his man or come inside. Tracks back aswell. This looks very likely from the Games scouts have been sent to.

Apparently "the top 10 freebies"

FREE AGENTS

KEVIN DAVIES

Target man Davies has been capped once by England but is in the twilight of his career.

Now 36, the striker is a free agent after he was not offered a new contract by Bolton Wanderers.

The former Chesterfield, Southampton and Blackburn Rovers front man scored six goals this season, including on in a 2-0 victory over Derby County at the Reebok Stadium.

SYLVAN EBANKS-BLAKE

The striker has been released by Wolverhampton Wanderers following relegation to League One.

The 27-year-old scored 15 goals for Wolves this season but could not save them from the top.

Ebanks-Blake began his career at Manchester United before having a productive spell with Plymouth Argyle.

IAN HARTE

Veteran full-back Harte has been released by Reading following their relegation from the Premier League.

Now 35, the former Republic of Ireland international has a wealth of experience under his belt, following spells with the likes of Leeds United, Spanish club Levante, Sunderland, Blackpool and Carlisle United.

While he is no spring chicken, Harte remains a major threat from set pieces.

DANNY HAYNES

The 25-year-old striker scored a stunning solo goal in a 1-1 draw with Derby County at the Valley in December – but has been released by Charlton Athletic.

Haynes has previously had spells with Ipswich Town, Bristol City and Barnsley.

He netted seven goals in 20 appearances for the Addicks this season but struggled with injury.

STEPHEN HUNT

The Republic of Ireland international has Premier League experience with Reading and Hull City.

He is now looking for a new club, though, after being released by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 31-year-old winger made only 14 appearances for relegated Wolves this season.

SIMEON JACKSON

The 26-year-old striker is not having his contract renewed by Premier League side Norwich City.

He scored three goals in 19 outings for the Canaries this season, two of them in cup competitions.

The Canadian international netted a hat-trick against Derby County, including an injury-time winner, at Carrow Road in April 2011 as Norwich closed in on promotion to the top flight.

STEPHEN McPHAIL

The experienced midfielder made 220 in six years at Cardiff City but did not figure in the Welsh club’s Championship title-winning campaign this season.

The former Leeds United, Barnsley and Republic of Ireland man is now 33 but wants to carry on playing.

"I probably should have moved club in the summer last year," he admitted.

NICKY SHOREY

Shorey has parted company with Reading after a second spell with the Royals.

The 32-year-old left-back has been capped twice by England.

Sandwiched between his time at Reading were spells with Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion.

GARY TAYLOR-FLETCHER

Taylor-Fletcher rose from the lower leagues and following spell with Huddersfield Town and Lincoln City, made a name for himself at Blackpool.

The striker was part of the Seasiders’ entertaining stay in the Premier League but has now been released at the age of 31.

His final goal for the club came in a 2-1 win against Derby County in the penultimate game of this season.

JEROME THOMAS

The former Charlton Athletic forward has been released by Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.

The 30-year-old made 106 appearances for the Baggies after joining from Portsmouth in 2009, scoring 13 goals.

Thomas has a spell on loan at Leeds United this season.
