  1. News just in, Gayle did his ACL while signing the contract.
  2. https://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2024/02/derby-add-striker-gayle-to-ranks-until-seasons-end
  3. This has been my favourite recent transfer saga. Absolutely brilliant.
  4. We can't both win all our remaining games, we still have to play each other. Edit, I just re-read what you put, ignore me
  5. Yesterday gets a pass from me, as far as the football goes. Finding some kind of shape without a number 9 was always going to be really hard. It's not an easy position to play. Us being disjointed and not even taking a shot in the first half wasn't a surprise. I don't think there was much the coaching staff could have done to change that. Credit to the players and staff for keeping going and finding a way to score.
  6. The joys of the West Stand. Amazed they don't have stairlifts in the upper tier. Hope I'm still going when I'm that old.
  7. Glad you enjoyed this week's subs, but Nyambe was injured last week. That's why he came off. Nothing tactical about it. So blaming Warne for it is a tad unfair. Editing to add he didn't take Collins off last match when he got his knock, despite us being ahead. Now we've lost Collins for a while. So you win some and you lose some. But we all have the benefit of hindsight whereas Warne doesn't when we're making those subs. Everyone's an expert in hindsight.
  8. I don't go to many games these days, but I'm glad my efforts didn't go unnoticed.
  9. He has one set for his left foot, and one for his right.
  10. How good is it to be sat in the pub after watching the rams win. This is what life's about.
  11. We were also the first ever team to be top of any league in history, after winning game 1 in the first season of the football league. ...you'll never sing that.
  12. Just got my tickets, pub table booked for lunch in Duffield, pub route planned, can't wait!
  13. This sort of makes it sound like Warne is having little impact on the team. I personally think it's unfair to blame him for a loss, and not credit him for a win. So for me, he's really turned it around results wise, and he's doing alright. The better games are now outnumbering the bad. So that's a credit to him and all the coaching staff. I disagree with people posting earlier saying that the Warne-outers refuse to change their stance on things. I was as Warne-out as anyone, but I'm currently happy with things how they are. It's the division above that's the big test. I don't care how we get out of this league, so long as we do. And we look well set to do that.
  14. If we have a sell-on fee, we should buy him back. We'll get a % knocked off, so he'd be a bargain. Just call me Martin Lewis.
  15. Thinking back over some of the strikers we've had in the last 20 years, we might have done better without one. City won the league without a striker. Barcelona similar. No reason we can't do the same.
  16. Didn't Nigel have run-ins with Evans? Or am I just imagining that. I'm sure they hate each other.
  17. You recommended a beer to me a while back. You've now sent me down a Trappist beer rabbit hole, as I'd never heard of them before. Just wanted to say thanks, they're absolutely fantastic.
