I'm taking my eldest lad to the upstairs bar in Edwards Inverurie today, family friendly, big screen, to watch Aberdeen knock out @David Celtic out of the Scottish Cup 1-0 Goal Scorer Max Lowe.

Max Lowe will be watched at Hampden celebrating in front of his family and friends.

    Anyone coming along? @2tups @Ramadonna @Ramadonna9 @Rampian @Elgin_Ram @CWC1983 @campavanram

Was in Islay a few months back. Absolutely love the stuff. But Ardbeg’s the better visit. Is there an Eddie’s guide to Belgium ? And if not, could David please pin one.

Most excellent. Got to say with a lot of stuff at work and a whole pile of other stuff going on it is wonderful to see us relieve the expectation and pressure that inevitable surrounds February and the marvellous DCFC. And as you were so good as to not mention the time you gubbed us at Wheldon Road, I'll barely mention just how much I've enjoyed the start to the new season. And everybody loves a TV show,

  4. Suspect I might be a bit of a hophead for some on here. And whilst it didn't quite reach the 'And Boulton's saved it' moment in Madrid. Had some superb fresh beer from Verdant last night. In tins as well. All the way from somewhere past you. CAMRA membership lapsed. Well, if only I'd ever joined.

Leeds Utd v Derby County Sky Sports 7:45pm Friday 11th Jan 2019.

Due to the lack of interest from the Aberdeenshire Rams, or only 2 folk maybe coming out to drink soda!!!!

(It's Friday night, it's Leeds on the TV, in a bar...oh I give up!!!) We are now watching this in Inverurie at The Commercial to reinvest our train money on an additional couple of beers.

If your a Rams fan and you live or work or are visiting the area and would like to meet up with fellow Rams fans to watch this game, or future games, then come and join us in the pub to cheer on the mighty Rams.

We’ll be there. Have trawled the streets of Peterhead for Jon S Baird, but fear that all I’ve done is open the sluice gates for fish related puns. How’s the parrot ? Got some aspirin for Ramadonna or did the.......

Enjoy yourself @CWC1983. Used to be a nice Belgium pub in Leicester, I forget the name.

I'm currently enjoying a bottle of 6 Degrees Peloton and dreaming about the Rams giving Aberdeen a proper walloping in 2 years time at Pittodrie in Europe!

Bobby Davidson on loan to Aberdeen and they win the league and all the rest!

@2tups probably out and about in the Aberdeenshire rain and win tonight having a Tia Maria and Lucozade instead of that Brew Dog Stuff.

Peloton you say...in with the bike riders methinks. I am partial to Tiramisu I will confess. But keep the rest . John O’Hare for Scotland. And where’s Mr Frogg, Dark Matter rum...fantabidosi.

From the school kids joke compendium circa 1960 something

What’s the definition of hope .. an elephant hanging over a cliff with its tail tied to a daisey

What's the definition of Cheek .. weeing through a letterbox and then ringing the doorbell to ask how far it went

whats the definition of agony .. sliding down a razor blade using your balls as brakes

    From the same tome :

Why do elephants paint their testicles red ? So they can hide in the high, high cherry trees.

What's the loudest noise in the jungle ? Giraffes eating cherries.

Celebration Time!............Aberdeenshire Rams back in the big time, back in the Derby County Forum section!

@2tups do you want me to buy us 2 tickets for the Aston Villa game?, I was planning for Gordon Guthrie Stand again, nice view and ideal for the flag etc.

    Hang fire. They’re booked already.

  10. I'm keen, but do have the prospect of the young un's 21st on the 3rd. Looking at seeing the Bunnymen in Utrecht with a few days in the Dam.

The second weekend a definite possibility. And there's a Brewdog in the student quarters of Sheffield (if we're not drinking Thornbridge in the Tap with the local Rams).

    @2tups and @Ramadonna9

The guaranteed lift home's started a 4 month stint in Stornoway, so it's soda water and lime for me, but should be good to bring the loon over and see you there. Missed MGS at Speyfest this weekend. Bah.

Goose Island IPA, followed by Brewdog Punk IPA.

My daughter gave me a dozen craft beers for Christmas, and I'm gradually working through them. I chose these two to drink in succession for obvious reasons - Goose Island is a 'classic' USA craft beer that has been in itself a take on a classic style (India Pale Ale) which I thought, 15 years ago, was a little over the top.

Well, how perceptions change with time. The Goose Island IPA now seems well-balanced to the point of being 'tame' - not boring though, but a finish that starts sweet and malty before the hops kick in.

Brewdog Punk IPA, on the other hand, is about as subtle as a brick. Surprisingly enough, it is less 'bitter' than the Goose Island IPA (45 IBU to 55 IBU), but of course it's over-loaded with the 'C' hops which are so heavy on alpha acids which gives it a throat-puckering grapefruit bitterness.

Can I choose between the two? No, not really - both do exactly what they say on the tin. It's not my favourite style of beer by a long chalk, but both are excellent examples of the genre. However, they will be followed by a large malt whisky to cleanse the palate before I nail a St Bernardus Abt 12 as a nightcap.

Strangely we were in Chicago drinking draft Goose Island IPA and I thought it tasted better in bottles in Bridlington. Baseball is a lot more bearable after a few anyway. The Cubs lost.

Yes, I should have qualified it by saying something like "It's not my cup of tea". I had a 'flight board' yesterday. The other 3 beers were quaffed with gusto, but the 'Elvis Juice' had two sips and the rest was left. It set my teeth on edge and it took 3 or 4 mouthfuls of other stuff to remove the taste. Just too overpowering.

    There's folks I'd quote, and folks I won't. :)
