  1. Will be interesting how we get on against the two styles of Peteboro and Oxford. I think we've worked out how to play against different opponents now. The teams that defend for 90s mins are often a tough nut to crack, especially at home, but we seem to be finding a way. Those who try and play a bit, but aren't very good at it, seem easy to beat now. Perhaps the aggressive, in your face teams like Stevenage are still a bit of a problem. From what I remember, Oxford play good football, but actually are able to create chances by it too. Peteboro are perhaps different to most teams as they play really attacking. I feel like we can cope well with both these styles. More confident of beating them than if we were up against Stevenage.
  2. I've just checked the history books, again, and this is the first time ever that the pre-season favourites struggled early on, started to scrape some results without playing particularly well, then began to look like a good team once they gained some confidence and momentum. It's a funny old game football. The same things keep happening over and over, but everyone forgets it.
  3. Paul Warne and Clowes. If we had less international players, perhaps we wouldn't have had 2 games postponed.
  4. Got a bit tense there at the end. Wasn't sure if we'd get the result we all wanted, but then Wonka stepped up and *deleted for spoiler reasons*. Great win though. Peteborough's incorrect score was an added bonus to just discover!
  5. I thought I could cast to the main screen? I'll be doing some sneaky phone checks, just to see if Thunderbird 5 gets prepared for launch.
  6. Need this game done and dusted by about 60th minute as going to see Wonka at 4pm.
  7. Neil Warnock used 2 songs from "White Christmas" for his unfinished operatic version of "Planes, Trains and Automobiles", which is based on his attempts to reach Derby during a terrible blizzard.
  8. Derby always wear White shirts when playing at home over the Christmas period?
  9. Derby fans sometimes sing White Christmas when winning away in late October. That song was then used in the film of the same name, becoming universally well known soon after.
  10. There is often some fortune included in most wins. I'm sure we could pick out multiple other turning points from both an attacking and defensive point of view. Not giving away a daft pen for example. I thought the script from last night was we were the better team without playing really well and deserved to win. If a few things had gone the other way, we might not have won.
  11. Good question that, would you rather 5 points or 6 points? Assuming the win is vs Wigan, would you rather 2 points vs the other 2, or a win and a loss? I think there is something very positive about not losing, even if it means 1 point less. Also preventing a rival gaining 3 points vs us is possibly better than having 1 extra point ourselves.
  12. Just a quick update on this thread. After Saturday matches, we'll be halfway thru the season for scheduled fixtures, although most the top teams have missed some games. The teams each top side are yet to play are: Portsmouth: Oxford, Fleetwood Peteborough: Shrewsbury, Exeter Derby: Charlton, Reading Oxford: Portsmouth, Barnsley Stevenage: Barnsley Bolton: Barnsley, Wigan, Orient Barnsley: Bolton, Oxford, Stevenage We are still on the easy end of remaining 1st half fixtures. Possibly good news we are playing on Cup 3rd round weekend on 6th Jan too. Only Portsmouth from top 7 are also playing, so will help us with fixture congestiom relative to other sides. By the evening of 1st Jan, if we are still within a win from automatics after already playing Peteborough and Oxford twice, we will be well set.
  13. Before the games, I was joking with a Palace mate about an invented rivalry which no one understands, but enough about Derby vs Lincoln, Palace are also playing tonight. I also sent him that stat after. 3k more for the huge Derby vs Lincoln clash of the titans than the bloodthirsty action in the so-called M23 derby.
  14. Pretty solid win. Never looked like conceeding apart from that silly tackle. We are on our best run since....when Mac1 took over? Looking good for automatic at the moment.
  15. One man's petty bickering is another man's calling out the handful of people who post the same dire drivel in every matchday thread. I went for it tonight as I, for once, watched the game on RamsTV. As i expected, the abject negativity is totally overblown and pathetic. 6 wins and 1 draw from 7 now. Thank god these posters are not at the game itself. And saying that you hate our manager is a disgrace at any point, let alone after a solid first half where only a stupid tackle prevented us going in 1 up.
  16. @MackworthRamIsGod @Millenniumram @one_chop Please provide us with more of you wisdom. @PrideParkhead which 3 of our players do you hate the most?
  17. A noble intention, but some "matchday" posters are beyond understanding.
  18. You might as well bang your head on the wall.
  19. No post by you if we win or a one line negative comment if we don't?
