I thought the people who understood the accounts were of the mind that administration doesn't help anyone?

I do not believe that a 15 point penalty would make a jot of difference to us in our current state. We could well be the first team ever relegated with negative points.

Jeez, it really is a possibility isn't it. Record low Prem total, not sure about -ve but could definitely see a record low Championship total if we're deducted points; we'll be odds on for League 1 record low next? Total shambles.

  2. Always the hope that kills you with England. At least when I watch Derby expectations are generally low. More dispiriting to support a team with such an embarrassment of attacking talent and yet look clueless upfront and bereft of ideas. Rather than blame Kane I'd suggest the manager and system need to take accountability. We all know if you put service into Kane he will score, he can be a carthorse all game for all it matters and still be deadly clinical with a single chance. Problem is the side looked unbalanced, from the start to the finish. This gaping hole in midfield with 2 DMs and then everyone else high up, no central thread, lack of ambition in the centre of the park IMO.

Most people will have had both vaccines by then so once again see no reason why we shall not be allowed and costs clubs big time.

In the thick of the normal "flu" season then, we need to be very careful about a 3rd wave of the virus during winter (November - March). Best hope is actually early in the season for me in terms of fan attendance, home and away, if they don't allow fans in in September it would seem brave to me to "open" back up during the time you'd expect the risk to be highest. For me its sod's law that football is a winter game. Personally I'd be opening up now (and a littler earlier than we have) in the expectation that late spring/summer/early autumn is fine and late/autumn winter we need to reign in.

  4. I genuinely can't see how MM could do another press conference or interview again given the level of (assumed) embarrassment he must have for the chancers he has engaged with. Fair play if he did but I wouldn't be surprised if we never hear from him publicly again after this charade. Always more of a spotlight on characters like MM who court the attention when things are going well, doing TalkSport interviews and whatever else, and then when it goes south people note the contrast moreso than those who keep a low profile at all times. You can bring these things on yourself unfortunately. I must admit the biggest question mark for me over Mel's tenure is actually how he managed to acquire his wealth in the first place.

As for your first paragraph, yes I believe you're right. The Americans might still be interested if we stay up, and I would imagine that the local consortium weren't offering as much as Alonso.

Your second paragraph, again I agree with you but with a very big "with hindsight". We're up to our necks in the proverbial because Mel tried to chase the dream, and the majority (I know some expressed reservations at the time of many moves) of us were all for it. "Sam Rush gets who he wants" and "we sign who we want" were the most common phrases on here for some time. We all know that Mel and the club follow the forum, so imagine how he would have felt every time he read how brilliant he was. We're (most of us) as much to blame as he is.

We're no different to any supporters the world over who want (and often expect) their club to invest in talent. However, we're not responsible for the fact there was no talent in the recruitment department of the club. This is hindsight and it is painful but it is also true. We spent more than enough to get us out of the league (thanks) yet spent it dreadfully, how the fans are responsible for that I am not sure?

As for this takeover, if we go down I imagine whatever is signed it won't stand up. Wouldn't be surprised if the next saga for the club is Mel trying to force the buying party to make good on a contractual agreement to buy and suing.

the spotlight is on young Wayne: with the right tactics and motivation we win one maybe two, scrape some draws and stay up. Forget the maths, it IS in our own hands.
    Rotherham could pass Udders tho

But it is not in our hands, is it? It is in Rotherham's, they are 4 points behind with 2 games in hand now and a better goal difference. So we are therefore categorically reliant on them to not do the business as them staying up is in their hands, not ours. That could change but I would hope the club are not as "asleep at the wheel" to start believing a falsehood as serious as that given the position we're in, we need to hope we put it back in our hands, starting tonight.

  7. Our tally was so bad, you'd have to get to 30 games with almost zero points on the board before I'd sit up and take notice it is a possibility. As has been said, they are showing evidence of competing, we never did, they'll get some results. Few fans in Bramall Lane will help them on too.

  8. Gibbo interviewing FL is unwatchable. A question is never even asked, the answer is always given within the question.

Gibbo: A disappointing night but a case of move on to the next game?

    FL: Yes.

Gibbo: Just one of those occasions where things don't go your way but roll up your sleeves and back to the training ground?

    FL: Yes.

Even Kim Jong Un would blush at this coverage.
