  1. Been down what road, buying players? We've only got Washy for free if things don't go well? Goal scorers are always in demand. Anyway hardly looking to pay Anya sort of money! 😄
  2. I feared from Bradley's sanity it wound him up so much! 😄
  3. Warne isn't a risk taker, he's a plodder. We needed goals today (only a Cup game after all) and at no time did I think he'd bring Brown on.
  4. So we chucked the money at Bradley instead? Goals cost money, always have. We could have sold him on if he'd scored us to promotion.
  5. Missed a really nasty foul on Bradley. 😄
  6. Asked for his assessment of the game, Warne said: "We got away with one but I felt as if we didn't at least get a draw they would have got away with one because I thought we were smoking them. I thought we played really well and I am hugely disappointed we didn't stop the cross (first Crewe goal) and it was poor defending from us. I've been involved in a lot of games where you're in the ascendancy all it takes is one opportunity when you're not mentally sharp and that caused a problem for us. But we had some unbelievable chances and it didn't feel like it was going to go in. That's the truth. I was disappointed with the second goal we conceded. But the lads kept going and in certain games this year we've been a bit questioned, but I thought they answered the questions today. Even if we'd lost 2-0 and I know the fans will think I'm off my nut, but I would have still been proud of the performance. I was. But I generally thought we played really well and controlled the game. But to get a draw feels like a win, even though I know it isn't. We're still in the hat and now we have another game in a few days' time."
  7. So it's unfair to Clowes to say he might not want to fund a Championship squad (after all if we go up it won't be a Championship squad per se if Warne's previous promotions are anything to go by) but fair enough to say he's hoping Warne can't stand the pressure and resigns?
  8. There's positive and there's inventive. We didn't score either of our goals from a cross. But we kept trying. There is that positive enough for you? NO way did we outclass Crewe.
  9. Why? It isn't part of the business plan a Reading fan said that when talking about their sacking of Ince. It doesn't have to be paid in a lump sum and could easily be covered in the budget. Warne is still here because Clowes isn't bothered about instant promotion, as someone posted then he'd have to fund a Championship squad,
  10. We have the players to play on the deck and through midfield. The stats back up our strengths and weaknesses. 🙂
  11. And then leaving Smith on to get into the areas Sibs wants to be. 😄
  12. Fozzy was flat-footed (Bradley too) for their striker coming into the box, but neither Smith nor Barks got anywhere near pressurising their ball crosser, nor Nyambe, he's been AWOL quite a bit.
  13. Watching on a sky q box app. Had to login to ITVX when I first went to open it. Might that be needed for some?
  14. Yeah but we've had loads of crosses into the box! We're playing football everywhere but in and around the box. 😄
  15. It loads in MS Edge in reader view: read://https_theathletic.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftheathletic.com%2F5001078%2F2023%2F10%2F28%2Frevisiting-derby-county%2F%3Fsource%3Dtwitteruk https://theathletic.com/5001078/2023/10/28/revisiting-derby-county/ I think the comment about 'small loss' was in the Athletic writers tweet, which someone screenshot/quoted on a thread on here. I can't remember where.
  16. Weeds are just flowers in the wrong position.
  17. "...The prize fund has not increased from last season, but it's still worth a considerable sum of money to Derby if they were to reach the fourth round again. In prize money alone last season, Derby banked more than £200,000 on top of what they earned from their games being broadcast on TV. First round proper winners £41,000, Second round proper winners £67,000, Third round proper winners £105,000, Fourth round proper winners £120,000, Fifth round proper winners £225,000, Quarter-final winners £450,000, Semi-final winners £1,000,000, Semi-final losers £500,000, Final runners-up £1,000,000, Final winners £2,000,000 The gate receipts are split equally between each club, but this only changes from the third round proper to the quarter-final and relates to clubs who are outside the Premier League or the EFL. For instance, if a non-league club were to draw Derby in the third round, then 55 per cent of the gate receipts would go to them and the Rams would pick up the remaining 45 per cent."
