  1. Completely this. I’ll doff my cap to Warne IF he gets is up, but, bloomin-ell, I’d love to see some sustained ‘good’ football from the Rams, circa original McLaren.
  2. Yes, but what you don’t seem to understand is that it matters not what Paul Warne says, and you will never know what is said in the dressing room. It is what Paul Warne DOES that is the point of contention. Remember the phrase ‘actions speak louder than words’? Well what I saw, at home against low flying Charlton, was a starting Derby team made up of 7 defensive-minded players. So, regardless of what is said, he is blatantly showing the away team far too much respect; he seems too worried about THEM. I remember the ‘glory’ football under McClaren and he had a simple mantra, 5 defensive players / 5 attacking players. So, whatever is being said to the players in the dressing room is a moot point, but what does putting a team sheet out, at home, with 7 defensive minded outfield players SAY to the players?
  3. Happy clappers, hopeful clappers, nervous clappers, fearful clappers, clappers of habit, drunk clappers, cold clappers (clapping to keep warm), clappers on the payroll, away fan clappers, monkey clappers (the little wind-up toy with the symbol), corporate clappers there for the prawn sandwiches… There’s different types of clapper* *I’ve now used the word clapper so many times that I’m suffering from semantic satiation and the word no longer has any meaning for me.
  4. That’s being generous, If we don’t go up and Warne still at the helm, I reckon attendances would drop to 23K-ish
  5. Here’s my problem with Warne, I think I’ve put my finger on it. Do you remember the good-ol-days when there used to be the ‘Happy Clappers’ to the left and then you could draw a line to the ‘Wrist Slashers’ on the right? All of us, at sometime, have been somewhere on that line, from the most optimistic to the most pessimistic. Believe it or not, I have always seen myself more towards the happy clapper camp. I was surprised when Nigel left, I admired his ability to find uncut gems. I loved McClaren, obvs, gave Cocu way too much leeway, based on his playing career. I couldn’t get on the Pearson train, but nobody could. I enjoyed the ‘glamour’ Lampard bought to the club, thought Rooney showed integrity and I really liked Rosenior, I was angry when he got the chop and anyone can fact check that if they can be bothered. I dream of a bit of side-to-side football at the mo, at least they could actually pass a ball! Anyway, my problem with Warne is that he has shifted the dial so far to the right, there appear no ‘happy clappers’ left. I’m now a bloomin ‘wrist slasher’ and I hate that 😞 Are there ANY ‘happy clappers’ left in the building, is anyone out there…?

  7. Why Oh why do I keep doing this to myself? I keep thinking to myself that, surely Derby can't be that bad, the next game will be different. And, sure enough, I am sat at home, I have paid my tenner to the club to watch online, a cup of tea in hand and it is dire. I don't care what Warne apologists say, the football is terrible, terrible, terrible... We've just made Charlton look like peak Real Madrid, although, fair play to them, they have discovered a little hack that I wish we knew, it's called passing the ball. This is depressing sh!t. ☹️
  8. A few people on here use the ‘let Warne get us out of the division’ argument. I remember a similar argument with regards to Billy getting us out of the Championship. He did the job but, because he’d drummed a negative anti-football mindset into the players, we were then ill equipped for what laid in what and, despite a few transfers, produced a team that is now the butt of everyone’s jokes. Are we so happy that the mindless tactics and negative thinking, I.e., setting up to nullify the mighty Shrewsbury at home, may cause irreparable damage that our players may not easily recover from, even if we bought in some new faces. Short-term, ‘just get us up Warnie’ thinking may only kick-the-can down the road to next season where we’re languishing at the bottom of the championship. Ipswich from last year should be our model, try and get some sort of footballing philosophy going that you can build on if/when you move upwards; although I do accept they had a transfer kitty last season, and that, of course, helps. But, back to my point, negative short-termist win-at-all-costs football may set us up for more pain in the long run and anyone who thinks we can use Warne to get us promoted, sack him and bring someone else in, must realise that the damage is already being done. He seems like a nice guy and I’ve got nothing against him personally, the irony is that ‘failed’ football managers get such juicy payoffs that they don’t have to worry so much about the things us ‘ordinary folk’ do; so they don’t really lose in the end. I’m going tomorrow night and I just wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of good football from the Rams, it’s not loads to ask for is it 🤷‍♂️
  9. Load of balls! No point rocking the boat now, whether he gets us up or not, shake hands at the end of the season wish Warne well, then go our separate ways. Not good enough, 6/10 (C-) football that reminds you of a trip to the dentist. We’ll lose somewhere between 2 or 3 thousand off the gates next year if he’s still in charge, serving up this warm diarrhoea. My mood tonight = 😞
  10. I am not advocating that we sack Warne because I no longer know anything about what’s best for Derby County anymore - We look terrible but we’re 3 points off top 🤷‍♂️ No, my motivation is to keep this thread alive as, I started it and it’s nearly at the 100-page mark, that’s on the way to the, will-he / won’t he, Johnny Russell signing thread of yesteryear. I’m reliably informed that, if I get to 100 pages, I win a years subscription to the jelly club 💪 If we can all get this to 200 pages, apparently I win a pair of Katie Price’s old knickers 😎 So, Warne out! Boo Warne IN! Hooray
  11. I’ve said this myself on many occasion, the worst time to be a Derby fan is when we’re 1 or 2 nil up as there’s always a collapse coming. I much prefer games when we are 1 or 2 nil down, then at least the only way is up and it can’t get any worse* *Unless they score a third 😎
  12. This is called a ‘playtime’ thread, so here goes… Let’s say we fall well short this year, don’t get promoted, Clowes pulls the trigger and Warne’s gone. Let’s also say, by some miracle, Cooper is still out of work (I think the first managerless champ team snaps him up). Would you take Cooper as the new manager? For me it’s a hell yes, no brainer. I actually thought he was doing a decent job at Swansea before Forest and they needed more patience. What he did for Forest was remarkable, luck or not. 😎
  13. Right, that’s it, had enough now… …Nah, I’m just joking, there have been signs of life of late and it’s only the cup, we can focus on the league now 💪 Lose the next home game against Brizzle Rovers and things will get interesting again…🤔
  14. I’ve been waiting for someone to come on here and rub the ‘Warne Out’ brigade noses in it. I think it may miss the point. I actually WANT Derby to win, I would love Paul Warne to be successful, I would want Darth Vader with the emperor as his number 2 to be successful if it meant getting back to the Premier League. But WANTING someone to be successful and BELIEVING they will are two different things. If I go to the dentist with a toothache, I WANT them to tell me it’s okay and I can go home and eat a family size packet of peanut M&M’s, but I BELIEVE they’ll most probably tell me I need a filling. So, am I happy Derby won tonight, absolutely, am I happy Warne won, completely, do I think we’ve turned a corner, we’ll have to wait and see, but I pray we have. So, whether you’re in the In, Out or Shake-it-all-about camp, I feel we all want the same thing, and that’s a successful Derby County that plays the kind of football we saw tonight. If this is the launchpad for something better than we’ve been served this season, then I’ll be the first to start the ‘Warne In In’ thread 😎
  15. I have never agreed more with a post on here 👏 Whatever we feel about Warne’s (Mis)management of the team does NOT reflect on Clowes who, on paper, made a good decision to bring in a ‘League 1’ specialist and get us out the division. That this is turning sour is not on him but on Warne’s refusal, or inability, to see what is in front of his eyes on match days 😞.
  16. Ahem, I thought I made it explicitly clear that this was the DEFINITIVE Warne out thread, so definitive in fact it’s Warne Out Out, which means ‘proper out!’ I notice some fly-by-nights have come along with crowdfunding concepts and a couple of others talking about straws that have broken camel’s backs…That happened a month ago when Warne was talking about how worried he was by the midfield of mighty…Cheltenham! So, please can I direct all anti-Warne traffic back to its definitive thread. Thank you. 😎 PS, I’m not being serious, before someone misreads my ‘humour’ PPS, or am I 🤔
  17. I am going to bed tonight knowing that tomorrow morning, Monday at the latest, Clowes will have axed Warne. I shall eat my breakfast with SkySports on, willing the ‘Breaking News’ banner to appear. Although, we’ve fallen so far from grace, does the sacking of a mid-table League One manager actually warrant the ‘Breaking News’ banner? Probably get a passing mention at most 😞
  18. Just bumping this thread, just in case we might need to use it this evening.
  19. There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’ No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham. Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷‍♂️ 😞
