The refs in walking football are fairly static, taking up a position on one side of the pitch, around the half way line. I'm that if you offered your services, they would be greatly received.

Wednesdays match will arrive 3 days after their biggest game in their history, a chance to win some silverware. They should be emotionally and possibly physically drained come Wednesday. We'll need to tear into them from the first minute.

I think that you need to look closer at Rotherham's results last season. They only stayed up because of Warne's excellent start to the season and points deducted from other teams. Under Matt Taylor, Rotherham were comfortably the worst team in the championship last season on points per game and have continued this season. When Warne left Rotherham last season, they were 8th and had a game in hand, which had they won would have put them in the play off positions.

We almost completely nulified them second half, only conceding to a wonderstrike after a handball. We restricted them to 2 shots on goal in the second half, their fewest all season. So I don't think that the second half tactics were that bad, if we'd pressed higher up the pitch, there would have been much more space for them to exploit, we may have lost the game. I don't criticise the ref for the handball incident, but surely the linesman was in a perfect position to see it, even their player's reaction indicated that it hit his arm.

There's not much time after the Wycombe game on the Wednesday night and the match against Orient on the following Saturday.

Why would any club keep back these eye watering amounts of money until after the season has finished, surely they will want to spend that money on players at a time when they can add value during that accounting period, ideally after 1st July and before the season starts. Generally speaking players will have less value in the early part of the summer transfer window before the end of the accounts period. Notts will have known this when they overspent before the start of the season and realised that they would have had to had a forced sale of players at the end of the season and before the end of their accounting period at 30th June, in order to comply with FFP. They chose not to comply, for which there is no defence. They chose to spend over £30m more than they should have, so that over the season, they would have had an advantage over other clubs abiding by the rules.

Not as heavily backed as many of the clubs up there, what they have done is to rely heavily on the short term loan market in order to get the magic ticket to the Premier. We nearly did it with Mount, Wilson and Tomori, whereas they have got 8 players on loan in their squad. Ipswich a far from perfect themselves though, their last 2 seasons in Lg1 show operating losses of £14.4m in 21/22 and £21.8m last season, when they got promoted. A note in their accounts expect them to have increased losses when in the Championship. So many times clubs appear to have won promotion with limited resources with it only becoming clear nearly 12 months later, that the club incurred massive losses to achieve it. Gallant little Bournemouth twice gained promotion on the back of eye watering losses, around £50m in 21/22. Even little Luton's costs last season were over twice their turnover.

We are claiming that our goal difference is worth an extra point, but it's a lot closer than people think. For teams to catch us up on points, they'll have to win games and improve their goal difference whilst we lost or draw games. Assuming only 1 goal wins or defeats, then the difference to Bolton will be a maximum of 4 and Peterborough will be 5. However, you would expect at least one of those games to be by 2 or 3 goals, thus bringing the difference in goal differences to almost zero.

Totally disagree, I thought that Collins and Thommo were excellent, non stop chasing down 3 defenders between the pair of them. Some nice touches from Collins showed us just what we've been missing lately and he's come back not a moment too soon, imo.

He's on a 24 hour recall because Gateshead are not in the EFL, if it was a team in the EFL then the loan would have to go to the end of the season.

I've said this for a long time, especially when the current footballers have been at professional clubs from a very early age. Surely they must have regular sessions only using their 'wrong' foot, from an early age. However, I wonder if can you train a player to use his 'wrong' foot in an instinctive moment? I say this because I've seen Waggy score a good goal with his 'wrong' foot, but on that occasion, he had time to measure and concentrate on his shot. I also play to a very low level and can play the ball with my 'wrong' foot, but if the ball comes to me quickly, more often than not, it will be a swing and hope shot.

His chances always seem to fall on his 'wrong' foot, many players seem to be quite useless on their 'wrong' foot. Last night a Belgian forward should have sealed the game in the dying minutes, on his own about 12 yards out and he skyed it over the bar. The commentator excused him by saying that it was on his 'wrong' foot and we're talking about a 'world class' player here, not a league 1 player. CH has a sweet left foot but don't count on any chances on his right foot.

Very poor performance from everyone, I can't think of one player who shouldn't be disappointed with his own performance. On the subject of Waggy, his recent awful finishes have both come quickly to him on his 'wrong' foot, I've seen him score with his wrong foot but they've been when he's had time to think about it. I wonder why modern footballers who are coached at the highest level from a very early age aren't coached to be comfortable with both feet, maybe it's not possible to coach a player to be instinctive with both feet?

VAR has destroyed the instantaneous joy of scoring a goal. A player in a suspiciously offside position leads me to glance at the lino and the ref whilst jumping around, however, if the same was to happen in a game with VAR, I wouldn't celebrate until the VAR check is over, but by then, the moment has passed. It's sucking the joy out of live football.

We'd have thought that in January, if you'd said that we'd have lost Nyambe, Bird and Collins to injury. Hopefully, we've got the depth of strength and flexibility in the squad, to cope with a couple more injuries, especially with players returning from injury. 🤞
