  1. And neither were Derby until about 75 minutes in. Before Kelle’s mistake, we were 1-0 down with Villa looking so comfortable. That goal gave them the cushion, but the game was already getting away from us.
  2. Probably Scotland. which wouldn’t be a bad shout if we can pick up another Bryson or Russell.
  3. Regardless of system or personnel, I think we could have played Villa 10 times and we’d probably only have won once - likely on penalties. They were largely superior all over. We gave them a scare last 15 minutes but it was too little, too late. On the other hand, if West Brom had beaten Villa on penalties, in my mind we would have been favorites in the final as I thought they were poor on both occasions we beat them. And I’m sure Villa were delighted we beat Leeds.
  4. I’d like to see Haney vs Teófimo. Just to shut one of them up.
  5. Chelsea are so bad they are 8 points behind Manchester United who are also terrible. I’m amazed Pochettino isn’t under more pressure. Yes they are a mess with all their players, but for what they have at their disposal, there is no way they should be bottom half having won only 5 games from 16. Everton are a mess yet they’ve picked up 4 more points than Chelsea so far this season.
  6. I think he is mystified at why Bernardo Silva was pulled up for a foul throw just before Luton scored. It never was. Luton’s goal was excellent. Barkley did brilliant in midfield, Townsend’s cross was a peach and the striker leapt so early he gave the defenders no chance. City must be wondering what is going on. They keep dominating and just conceding out of nowhere.
  7. Bolton look the stronger of the two teams, and are more likely to pull away. I think we will finish second behind them this season.
  8. Villa staying up that season was pretty much the final straw in where I realized there is little justice in football. I actually like the fact they are up there now though. Rather them than somebody like Chelsea.
  9. Palace stay up every year but they offer nothing. I’d be bored stiff if I was a supporter of theirs. Forest seem to be aspiring to be them too. I honestly don’t see the clamor to be a 17th - 13th PL club. You lose 50% of the time, you have a big negative GD, you get battered by the top clubs, you uncomfortably cling on to every victory, your best players will just get poached every year, you largely play crap football and half of your games are moved away from the Saturday 3pm kick off time.
  10. It’s completely unfair on the smaller teams too who have smaller squads. The late season fixture pile up will hurt them a lot more and they aren’t the reason why games are postponed.
  11. Winning silverware with England isn’t a particularly great feat when you have world class youngsters and your opposition are the likes of Finland and Georgia. Interesting why he couldn’t get Swansea promoted, probably because both times he had better opposition like Brentford whereas Forest got promoted in arguably the weakest Championship in a decade. I don’t think anyone can deny that he has done a great job there. But I don’t see any more established top flight teams looking at how Forest play and thinking yeah we would like a bit of that. If he gets booted from Forest, his next job could be back in the Championship or a club likely to get relegated. He doesn’t go higher from here. No chance.
  12. Cooper has done a great job at Forest but he is at his limit. There is little evidence to suggest he can go any further. We have seen with the likes of Chris Wilder, Nigel Pearson and Paul Lambert that it can just click at one club, but they can’t replicate it elsewhere. Palace would be absolutely mad to go for him based on his limitations. Tony Pulis has a better record.
  13. Seen lots of ‘thanks for the memories’ messages from Forest fans. Has he been sacked?
  14. I don’t have you, or anybody for that matter, on ignore.
  15. Since the e-vapers went trick or treating at David’s house we have only played 3 league games. 3 league games in five and a half weeks. The international break, League Cup, FA Cup lower rounds and the Pizza Cup have seriously disrupted the only competition that matters. Now we can fully focus on league football again the excitement can resume. Derby won’t lose another game from now until March when we will be sitting in the top two. Heard it here first.
  16. They did that against Bournemouth last year and then the wheels fell off. I like Arsenal, but they get carried away. They have some big away games coming up at Villa, West Ham and Liverpool. Need to get past those before starting to act like champions elect.
  17. Warne is struggling because we aren’t in the top two. The playoffs aren’t a given and there is no consolation for getting there and losing in them. This league is bereft of quality. And if we don’t get promoted this season, Warne should be gone IF options like Mowbray are still available.
  18. I didn’t even know we were playing today. It seems like we haven’t had a run of League One games in ages. International games, the League Cup early rounds, the FA Cup early rounds and this junk competition are getting in the way of what really matters.
  19. How would trading Warne for Mowbray be a Mel Morris attitude? The reason we are where we are is because Mel racked up the debts with atrocious recruitment. Mowbray is renowned for buying young players with potential, working with young players and players then leaving for profits. The complete opposite of Mel’s scattergun policy. Warne was always a short-term option to get out of League One. He is struggling with that. Warne has shown nothing to be considered a sound long-term option.
  20. It’s why no top team would take him. He is getting results and will keep you up, but the football is poor and you are already at your limit. Next season will be interesting if Leicester and Leeds are back in there spending cash. It might make it a bit more competitive down the bottom. But the owner must be wondering whether to stick or twist. Stick with Cooper and you finish 17th - 14th. Probably next season too. Or do you look at Brighton and Brentford with envy and think you should be pushing for that. Some teams in the past like Blackburn made the mistake of twisting and it didn’t work out.
  21. Context. Sunderland are in a much more competitive league. They surprisingly have a bottom eight wage budget for the Championship and one of the youngest squads. Mowbray was doing an excellent job. I’d have him over Warne all day long. 100%.
  22. Cooper have some big games coming up with Fulham and Wolves away, Spurs and Bournemouth at home. If they go winless from that lot then he could be in danger ahead of January. No chance they go down though. They also look noticeably weaker without Awoniyi up top. They only stayed up last season due to his goals towards the end of the season after he returned from injury.
  23. I thought before than Man City will be weaker with Gundogan and Mahrez leaving. They seem more chaotic and in their last 3 games they have thrown away leads late on. Liverpool will win the title this season. Everything just seems to be falling for them. Arsenal v Liverpool in a couple of weeks will be a cracker.
