I used to love visiting the Witterings when I lived in East Hants, but I had ambitions to live in places like Midhurst, Chichester and Arundel until work took me elsewhere. The South Downs are glorious.
This is where my mum and her 2nd husband lived.

Lol, I lived in Yapton til I was 19, then lived in both Littlehampton and Bognor over the years! Yes, Worthing is highly overrated! Whereabouts in Middleton were you?
Not sure of your age but I lived in Middleton from 85 to 89/90. We lived down near the Elmer Pub so Elmer Beach really.
My Dad is buried in Middleton Church, died too young.
If I recall, there was a bit of a Sunday Football League rivalry between Elmer and Yapton for some reason.

Littlehampton is sh!t! It is the epitome of the old phrase, you can't polish a turd!!! All the work done by the river and it's still awful! ?
Seafront is nice, is what I meant.
Town centre will always be a bit grim, these seaside places usually are.
Disclaimer here Eric :- I lived in Middleton on Sea for 4 years and Goring by Sea for 25 so I'm familiar with the area.
As such, don't go to Worthing, it's like Ravenholm.
Worthing is my pick for Overrated place, unless you are 80.

Bognor.
Oh sorry, it really is a dump.
I meant Littlehampton. You northern types might not know but it has a reputation for being a bit sh!t but is actually pretty decent these days. Or it was 3 years ago.
There should be a reverse thread to this, places people reckon are great but are really a bit poo.

Does this explain the number of people claiming to be part of the Resistance in France during WW2?

Also, Steve's Fish and Chips
Dry chips, soggy batter, unless that's what passes for good fish and chips up here?

Agree with some of the others that said real ale and coffee shops, especially when served in pretentious surroundings, with "experts" in the field...
Things I'd add to the list
Colloseum at Rome... not as good as the one Tunisa which is in a lot better condition and was the one used in gladiator.
And controversially, chocolate brownies. I love anything sweet and chocolate, my teeth are as sweet as can be. But I find them always to be dense or dry and underwhelming.
Then you need to go to New York and get the Chocolate Brownie mix from Fat Witch Bakery in Chelsea market.

Do you mean, just football podcasts?
I do like listening to Casefile or Our Fake History on the way to work.

I keep hearing that his claim to be a life-long fan is a lie, what's the story behind that and what is there to back that up?

FYI if you have a gaming PC and Amazon Prime you can grab 30 games for free today including the following;
Mass Effect Legendary Edition ?
Need for Speed Heat
Grid Legends
Star Wars Republic Commando
Jedi Knight : Jedi Academy
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
I have a Prime freebie for a month, would the games disappear if I choose not to subscribe and the end of it?

My drinking was limited to the pubs around Bursledon, Crows Nest, Jolly Sailor etc
And smoking fags on the way to school in Hamble. Ah, happy days the early/mid 80's

I went to school in Luton between the ages of 6 and 9.
Seemed OK to me, well, Ramridge Infant School was alright.
