Other half got stuck under hornsbridge in Chesterfield due to flood water. Managed to eventually get through it but traffic has been horrendous. Took her 3 hours to do the 20 odd miles or so from Rotherham back to Chesterfield.
That's where I was stuck. There were cars running out of fuel. People having toilet breaks behind bridge pillars.

Stuck in traffic because of flooding for 3 hours behind some passat diesel churning out thick black smoke.
The having to get through a 3 foot deep flood with broken down cars in it just to get ******* home from work. Ahhhh!!!!

What really gets me, are 'celebrity' t.v. shows (I'm a Celebrity, Celebrity Come Dine with Me, Celebrity Wipeout) that are full of people only famous for being on other reality programmes - being on Made in Chelsea, Gogglebox, Geordie Shore..does NOT make you a celebrity.
Celebrity Pointless has a ring to it.

I stick up for myself and others in my jobs I've had but eventually ended up ill and unemployed. Principles, hard graft and doing the right thing don't always get you where you want to be. Arse licking , back stabbing and having no dignity often do though. It's just a case of what is the most intrinsically important to the individual I guess.
At least you can hold your head up high knowing you have the respect from your peers even if it has held you on the lower rungs of the corporate ladder.
Hope you are ok now.

Sounds like you haven't worked hard enough in your job..... ?
TBH I have got to where I am through hard work and not sounding like a knob or sucking up to higher management . You could say I there on merit .

I call them brown noses.
People who try to further their career by copying buzz words the CEO uses. Copies clothing trends on the directors floor. False laughs at things that are not funny. In general sucking up to the higher management . It makes my blood curdle .

I used to think like this but it's not until you have kids that you realise that they get so much out of it. Dressing up and getting free sweets from people most of whom are generally very decent and giving.
I think for younger kids it's really enjoyable and most folk aren't put out by them knocking on doors with their parents, it's when you get groups of older kids that I ignore. Purely because some of them can be rude and obnoxious and I don't want that on my doorstep thanks.
When I was young I didn't go around begging for sweets off people. If anything happened on Halloween it was trying to get an apple out of a bowl of water. Also you were lucky if your mum made you a ghost outfit from some old bed sheets not these fancy things you get from Sainsburys.
So I detest the Americanisation of Halloween and the loss of anything traditional to this country .

Derby County 'Gift Card' - bought in ticket office by my hubby as a birthday gift back in March. Finally got round to buying a top I liked in shop - 'sorry can only use it for tickets' No problem as we go to all away matches. Next away match in ticket office 'sorry you can only use it for home tickets'.
No clear terms and conditions on the card.
We are season ticket holders so only buy tickets for cup. I could have used it for EFL cup but too late now.
Bought in March, it runs out next March so we better get a home FA cup draw or it's wasted. What a palaver!
You could get some mates a Forest ticket.

I am getting cheesed off with people ringing me telling me I've got a problem with my Internet connection.
I blew my top and said to the **** on the end of the phone do you think I'm stupid?
He replied yes sir very.
I got two more calls from them within an hour. These people need shutting down the problem is I don't think they are phoning from this country. They don't sound English anyway.

I hate hate hate that word.
Surely if we had 'bottled it' we wouldn't have produced the fight backs we did against Millwall and Huddersfield? We'd have just rolled over.
Like we did against Reading. I must agree with you on the 'bottled it' though. Capitulated was the word I wanted use. I'm not sure why I didn't.
-
So many ifs and buts. That season went down hill before it started when Thorne got injured. By the end of the season we had bottled it. Huddersfield away I went for a piss and missed 3 goals.

The missus moans I never take her anywhere and I spend more time and money watching Derby. Yet she will quite happily blow £80 on a hair do that looks exactly the same. If I don't notice she has been to the hairdressers I'm in trouble. The best thing is though the next day she makes out the hairdresser has made a right mess of her hair and she is never going to that hairdressers again. Then 2 weeks later she is back in there getting ripped off again.

God knows what it is but it's good stuff.

cheers eddie. I'm looking forward to them. Not really.
It's classified as an 'old ale' and as such is more like a stout (although not quite as heavy) or a porter with sweeter, caramel and chocolate notes.
It's magnificent.
