  1. Just another example of PW not using our youth system. ๐Ÿคฃ
  2. So Thompson becoming available thread becomes a Hourihane bashing thread ๐Ÿ˜ณ Personally glad to see more options in midfield, think we will need them all in a long season.
  3. Not so sure on that, I've seen posts on social media wanting us to lose so we could get rid of PW, even seen another that states let's hope we get promoted so he can get found out. i suppose it depends on the definition of getting behind the team...
  4. Is that not just another example of entitled fans ? It reminds me of the fans who think we should steam roll this league because we have we have big crowds budgets etc.... i know a few Utd fans who although obviously would like more trophies, are quite happy to go and watch their team over England and Europe.
  5. 11 points will never be beaten, never in our lifetime or our children's, a record that has never been equalled in any of the leagues. It will also never be forgotten, other teams will never let it be. Quite rightly as well, if it was the other way around we'd do same.
  6. And yet 5 clubs decided to part ways with him, seems owners don't agree with that assessment.
  7. In another post you advocate replacing PW and state he is struggling. Maybe I'm a cynical, but this seems to be a placeholder post ready for any failings between now and the end of the season, with the rationale of this is the poorest league for years etc...etc Hopefully not though and maybe everyone is finally getting behind the manager and team ๐Ÿคจ
  8. Doesn't matter if they were in play offs or outside, the point is, it's a Mel Morris knee jerk reaction kind of thing. Just a few months before PC was the Fergie of the club, then at the first sign of poor form, he is gone, no thought about the long term impact it has on the club, just a "I'll Chuck a few more million to try to put it right". Do you think he sacked him and thought Wassall would do a worse job ๐Ÿ˜‰ Same here, PW is 6 points from play offs and let's replace him with another manager because he is "better". So if we did that and he didn't get promotion, what then, sack him and bring the next one in who is "better", as I said, MM scatter gun approach.
  9. He literally let PC spend millions weeks before removing him, the point is that there was no planning behind his madness. Why bring in a manager give him only one proper transfer window and sack him every time a "better" manager becomes available. In his eye's he replaced him with a better manager, doesn't mean they are the right manager though.
  10. 6 points from the top 2. You sum it up perfectly for me, being a better manager (which is in your opinion) doesn't guarantee success, which was Mels problem. He thought all you had to do was throw money at it, thankfully our owner has more sense than a lot on here who wanted PW sacked weeks ago.
  11. We score 3 and them zero and someone uses XG to suggest it should be 2-1. I should be surprised, but looking at this thread it appears that some will throw anything at PW to try to prove a point, not putting youngsters on, easy teams, will get found out when promoted....so tedious, enjoy the win, your day will come, I'm sure we will lose at some point ๐Ÿ˜
  12. Why is Warne struggling ? He is well placed to gain promotion. Bringing another manager is would mean they would then change the philosophy of the club and another change of personnel, scatter fun approach. If you change manager everytime you think a better one comes along, that's a Mel Morris approach.
  13. Mel Morris attitude and why we are where we are today. There is always someone who has a better record, doesn't mean it's what's best for the club though.
  14. Football is nowhere near as bad as it used to be, it's certainly evolved for the better but imo you still need some of the neanderthal behaviour to make it the game it is. Personally the songs around the players parts, can't see a problem if they are done in a humorous way, the collymore one though I don't get and think that's a throw back that isn't needed. Football is now catering for the family, which it didn't back in my day, when you would never dream of taking a young one to a game, but as I alluded to earlier, the swearing, the stupid songs, the standing, the drinking, still have a place, if done in the right way...maybe I'm showing my age though ๐Ÿ˜
  15. SM failed though, BD used to protect leads and it got us promoted, yet people would still prefer the former. Personally I enjoy all types of football, always find it intriguing how managers adapt to certain situations. I was amazed at how the Crazy Gang got so much success from a certain brand of football, Althetico Madrid mirror this to a certain extent. The best managers appear to be ones with hindsight though, they always seem to know the best tactics that should have been deployed.
  16. But he hasn't, he has given several reasons to counter your question, including answering the Bradley one. From what I read, just a few as below. conceding silly free kicks wildsmith not scoring.
  17. We "nearly" conceded ๐Ÿ˜ณ Bradley was brought on to deal with crosses when we were under pressure. Nature of football is that when you go behind, you try to equalise, pushing more men forward whilst the team that's winning tends to me more cautious as time passes by. As we didn't concede against Port Vale, I'd argue that was down to the introduction of Bradley.
  18. Pretty sure MM would have lost enough money on managers he sacked to compensate for another season or two funding. Stick with the same manager for longer periods and give them the opportunity to succeed and you don't have a bigger turnover in players. It was a flawed business plan from MM which has resulted in us being on this league, along with his arrogance not to play within the rules.
  19. I think it's just building up to blame Warne for the recruitment during Mels period.....must be one of few things that's not been levelled at him recently.
  20. We are in league 3 as the result of an owner that ran the club like a fan with a strategy of sacking managers weeks after giving them millions to spend in a transfer window, to bring in a different manager with a different philosophy. Ironic really and wouldn't surprise me if those now referring to statistics are the ones that have been advocating for him to be sacked ๐Ÿคจ
  21. Reading some of these comments, really don't understand the need to slag certain ones off in a need to find a negative...bizarre, they are all part of the squad and will have a contribution to make over the season. No wonder why PW often gets defensive in interviews.
  22. You answer my point, no one knows why he didn't know his name but based on what I have seen, it's just been blown totally out of context. (IMO) Yes, I also take teams to various academies in the area on a regular basis, along with "recommending" players for trials etc..I not a scout, I'm defo not an expert in this area or management although I have a few badges and I have no inside knowledge whatsoever other than second hand information most of the time. I wouldn't definitely not take anything as I say as gospel, I can and often am wrong ๐Ÿ˜
  23. You mean it's your criteria, in five words you have determined that him not knowing a players name, without knowing why, have taken that as not knowing who the player is. That's fair enough, your view, but based on what I have seen and heard, mine is that is an unfair accusation to be labelled at him, he doesn't know my sons second name, probably not his first either but he has acknowledged him in passing a couple of times.
  24. Where does that say he didn't know who the player was ? All I can see is that he didn't know his name ? As I said before, often see him around the training ground, not sure why not knowing a players name means he doesn't know who he is, do you think he should know everyone's name at all levels, or do you think he puts trust in others to manage that side.
