It’s Daniel’s birthday tomorrow. I will be buying a cake later. Dan loved cake. Even though he isn’t here, there should always be cake on birthdays. I wanted to do something to mark Dan’s birthday and wondered if we could give the RSPCA a birthday boost? I wouldn’t expect people to give much as so much money was raised already. One of the few authors I’ve liked almost everything by is Sarah Waters. I’ve now read everything by her apart from The Night Watch. I’ve been saving it knowing, there is nothing else by her at the moment. @ketteringram I loved The Light Between Oceans too. Hated The Midnight Library. I’ve sworn to never to read another book by Matt Haig 😆

Not yet, but I will definitely read more. My book club are discussing Queen of Dirt Island in our April meeting. I loved how each chapter felt like a short story. It was a clever way of writing with the chapters being so short.

I’ve just finished Coastliners by Joanne Harris. I didn’t enjoy Chocolat by the same author and I wasn’t a fan of this either. While I’ve been doing DIY over the last week I have listened to The Colour of Our Sky by Amita Trasi. Loved it but I really felt for the female characters in it. Need to pick a new book for reading and listening to. Think I’m going to read Ladder to the Sky by John Boyne. Maybe listen to Wakenhyrst by Michelle Paver on Audible.

I once called my mum to tell I was on the train home from Manchester on a Saturday and would be back in a couple of hours. Stopped for a drink with a friend in Sheffield and eventually got home on the Monday

We joke about popping out for milk but my friend’s stepdad gave this excuse twenty years ago and never came back. Probably still wandering round wondering what happened to the baseball ground 😂

Absolutely! My dad said recently that according to Dan we would already be in the championship 😂 I’m loving it on his behalf. We’ve got to keep the positive thoughts going

My mum told me that if I swallowed chewing gum it would wrap round my heart and I would die. You can imagine the panic when i accidentally swallowed chewing gum

Probably a silly question but I’m still getting back into football and learning. Are players like Adams reluctant to sign a contract (putting aside pay details etc) because they want to know if Derby will be in the championship first? If not, they are on the lookout for offers from championship clubs. I appreciate everyone is always open to better deals.
