  1. Watching on TV tonight, why is it so much more nerve wracking than being at the game?!! Great first half, let's keep this going!
  2. Just massive, massive respect to this guy. I hope to goodness we can sign him up, what a difference he has made.
  3. It's got to be a caramel doughnut surely?😁
  4. Actually this is a really good point , and may be the reason that the "two sides", as there seem to be, are so polarised? There are those who actually do see success as the be all and end all, and therefore are perhaps more likely to be critical if they don't think we are going to achieve that, and those, myself included, who just enjoy following the club, enjoy everything that match day entails, irrespective of style of football, the league we are playing in etc. Obviously it would be great to be playing scintillating football, 20 points clear at the top, but it's not the only, or most important, thing for some.
  5. And those of us who prefer to see the league position as a positive are derided because "it's a rubbish league, with another manager we'd have walked the league, we have the biggest wage budget so should be walking the league, we're only second inspite of Warne not because of him, and we don't deserve it because something, something xG".
  6. Yeah the mascot didn't half annoy me as well, goading our fans when they scored, but more annoyingly disrespecting our players. Not that any of that excuses our bad performance mind!
  7. Fair point, apologies! Trying not to get sucked in!
  8. Don't you just know that without any context this is going to become another stick for some people to beat Warne with!
  9. Wow, what a result! Some fantastic performances out there today but I just want to take a moment to praise Ebou Adams, to give such a wholehearted display while observing Ramadan can't be easy, what a guy!
  10. Was this when their number two went down in the box clutching his face? Those around me in the North Stand thought that he had his back turned when the ball hit him and thought he was plainly cheating? Has not been mentioned though so maybe we saw it wrong.
  11. Really enjoyable game tonight. It was like watching a different team to the one which played so awfully at Reading a few weeks ago. I said after the Bristol game that the second half there was some of the best football we've played in a while, well I think the first half tonight was even better, except for not scoring of course! We were well on top and really should have been winning. Can't really comment on the red card and penalty as sit in the North Stand so it was difficult to see what happened, but I'm sure we're due some decisions going our way! If we get promoted I really hope Adams would like to join us, as he has made such a difference to our midfield and as a result people around him seem to be playing better. Can't wait for Saturday!
  12. I was just replying to a post by @Stockport Ram who mentioned "dummy". To be fair, having watched it again, you may be right, but I prefer to give Wison the benefit of the doubt!😁
  13. It was Wilson with the dummy for the third.
  14. Cracking day out today! Thought the second half especially was some of the best football we've played. I found it difficult to pick out a man of the match today because it was a great team performance, including the subs. Who did they pick on Rams tv? Oh and the toilets were marginally better than last year!
  15. Sorry, off topic, but just to reply to this, looking at the Bristol Rovers forum, it sounds like the facilities in the new stand are no better than when they had the tent! Because they can't actually fit any facilities under the stand! We shall see.
  16. Hoping they've got some better ones at Bristol Rovers this year!
  17. Looking forward to the trip. It was at this match last year that I found myself sitting next to B4 for the first time, although I was too shy to tell him I knew who he was! Ultimately it was because of him that I started posting after years of reading, as I wanted to pay my respects. So here's to B4, thanks for getting me involved, and if you can, three points would go down nicely.
  18. I can't get my head round this, so you're saying they didn't deserve to finish 4th because they scored more goals than you were expecting?
  19. Meant to say also, Ward's brilliant control of the ball when receiving long, high passes was particularly noticeable today. Top notch.
  20. Enjoyed the game today, having Sibley and Ward as wing backs definitely made for a more attacking performance. Either could have been man of the match but Ward just shaded it for me, he had a great game, particularly as he hasn't had regular game time of late. Lovely header from Gayle, let's hope it's the first of many. I thought when CBT came on that he showed glimpses of what he's capable of. On to Bristol!
  21. Well you'll probably just take the Michael, but anyway.... Agree on Nelson, great signing, also love Wilson and Adams, they bring a bit of energy and excitement. There have been enjoyable games, Oxford away being a noticeable example, what a great night that was and I think everyone who was there would agree. We are still second! We have a great chance of being promoted. Positivity for me also extends to the whole feeling of a match day, spending time with family, and the people you sit with who have become friends, but I guess I'm probably not allowed to count that!
  22. What's wrong with being positive for the sake of it? I freely admit to being that kind of person, but preferring to pick something positive out of a game doesn't mean I'm defending the stuff you think is poor. I just prefer not to dwell on the negative, there's plenty of that on here already! And you guess wrong, I'm at every home game and plenty of the away ones too.
